I got tired of hearing how great After Effects is for Motion graphics and special effects so I decided that I would learn what this application is all about. I have used Photoshop and Premiere for several years (and a little of Illustrator). Once I started into this book I realized that After Effects is truly a remarkable piece of software. This book describes the many aspects of multimedia (pixels, film speed, resolution, etc) that After Effects utilizes. The book is written very well (and with some humor) and the exercises are great. This is not a beginner¿s book. I am actually thinking of buying a second copy (for my 14 year old) because my original is pretty worn out.
Although I think the Real World books are pretty good I really enjoy the professional 'Real World Examples' given in this book because they fuel my own creative fires into believing I too can do professsional motion design!
I just started reading this book. I respect Trish and Chris for their hard work and effort. I enjoy reading DV Magazine so I dove in to see how deep these two know this product. So far I am on page xiii (Thank you's) I like what I have read. If this book is as good as thier articles are, I will keep it at a 5 Star Rating. I choose 5 Stars for starters based on thier articles in DV Mag, the Illustration on the Books Cover and the info on DV, WIDESCREEN, and FILM
