About the Author
Sandra J. Stone is a professor at Northern Arizona University, where she is the Founder and Director of the National Multiage Institute, an international leader in multiage professional development training. A former primary multiage teacher, Dr. Stone conducts research in multiage education, is a frequent speaker at national and international educational conferences, and serves as a national and international multiage consultant. Author of numerous publications on early childhood education, literacy, and play, she is also the author of Playing: A Kid's Curriculum.
