About the Author

Barbara J. Olexer is a fourth-generation Oregonian. She has written more than twenty books and screenplays. Her first published book was The Enslavement of the American Indian, a nonfiction account of that little-known segment of American history.

Her formative years were spent in small farming towns and a backwoods logging camp. Barbara's life has been a tapestry of changes as she has lived and worked in small Oregon towns, such as Ashland, Camp 5 (a logging camp that belonged to Kinzua Pine Mills), Klamath Falls, and Malin, as well as some of the country's biggest cities, such as San Francisco, Hollywood, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.

On retirement, Barbara returned to the Pacific Northwest where her two grown sons and her grandchildren live. She lives in Milwaukie, Oregon, with her husband and two cats.
