I wish I had read these first but it doesn't hurt the Dragoneer series to read them after.

I adore short stories, I think too often they are pushed aside for something more lengthy. While short stories do not allow for much character development, they are entertaining and leave a lot to the imagination. These are the types of stories told around camp fires, they inspire and bring magic to the lives of children and adults alike. This is the first book in the series, and I will be reading more! A magical tale about a girl and a dragon, "After all, the world is a playground for a girl with a dragon." Love the idea, and am looking forward to the development of this tale. A magical tale with a dragon for a friend... you can't go wrong!

Impressive beginning, but rest of the book fell short. Opening scene with orphaned dragon very touching, but strongest description of Clover was that she was lucky, lucky, LUCKY - to the point of annoyance. Excellent cover, but story seemed disorganized.

unfortunately I have not had a chance to read this book yet and that is the only reason I am giving it such a low rating. From what i undersatnd of this book however, it is supposed to almost be like a prequel to the Confliction series created by M.R. mathias centered on this girl and her preparations of the coming dragon riders who would face the confliction and battle it.

The beginning of a marvelous adventure! I loved this short story! It was engaging all the way through, making you want to keep those pages turning. The story was well constructed and the pace evenly laid out. The action was intense and characters engaging. Clover was my favorite (loved her  personality.)The writing was masterfully done, making it a breeze to read the entire story in one sitting. This story is fantasy done right: action, humor, magic, and dragons. Loved it!

Poorly written 50-page story with a decent plot. Dreadfully awkward vocabulary filled with mildly misused words.
