Hard to describe...a bit confusing and difficult reading getting into the meat of the story, but well worth the effort once you get into the flow. Happens somewhere between alternative reality/sci-fi/historical & post apocalyptic (the era is described in years as P.E.? so seems somewhat left up to the imagination). Very 'military science fiction,' also deals with some politics and other aspects of life in this world. Unfolds in the beginning with periodical accounts, historical records, some narrative, then explodes into an all out revolution mostly about the remaining enemy of the state members of a once elite military troupe.
