About the Author

Makeda Armorer-Wade is a dynamic and influential leader who has become an expert in managing life as a

Crohn's Survivor. She has 30 + years of experience gracefully managing and battling the tragic diagnosis of

Crohn's disease since she was 16 years old. Life has provided unlimited opportunities for her, to tame this beast

called Crohn's. Ms. Armorer-Wade has developed a full wheat, corn, yeast and dairy free diet, along with

discovering new ways to make breads and desserts that have become alternative food sources. Ms. Armorer-

Wade holds a MS in Human Services Administration and an MSW with a Specialization in Children and

Family Counseling. She has been in the field of Social Services for over twenty-five (25) years and believes in

giving back. She serves as Trustee, 2nd Vice President and Membership Chair of the Schomburg Corporation,

as well as participates on the Executive Board for her chapter in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Currently she is a Curriculum Developer for the City of New York where she has written over 15 curricula. She

also serves as the Chief Strategist at Chiron Enterprises. Ms. Armorer-Wade has a passion for teaching that has

led her to be an online Instructor for Axia College now University of Phoenix, an Instructor at Fordham

University and a Trainer for the City of New York. And if that wasn't enough in 2002, she started a non-profit

called Mentors on the Move, Inc. where she began mentoring and coaching young women on a variety of

issues. In all areas especially with the young women she mentors she promotes "Taking the best and leaving the

rest." Ms. Armorer-Wade also serves as a member and on the Executive Board of GAYAP Incorporated and

participated in fundraising to support orphanages internationally.

Ms. Armorer-Wade attributes her strong faith to triumphantly winning this life long battle against Crohn's

Disease. She is a proud wife and parent of three talented young men, Jason, Jaron and Jafari.
