HOLY COW!!!!! Best one yet. I cried about the whole time and got mad too. This episode us just like a soap opera. This one is about Mallory, Luis, Jeffrey, and Lacey. Lacey has decided she wants Luis. Luis is dating Mallory. Jeffrey confronts Mallory's sister Dakota. Dakota gets mad at Mallory and tells her Luis screwed Lacey the night before. Luis realizes he loves Mallory but he could be too late. Can't wait for the next one. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM PUBLISHER FOR HONEST REVIEW*

Reviewed by Francesca and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog Who would’ve thought…CROSSWINDS is the third installment in the Rising Storm serial and this one focuses on the younger kids of Storm. I was expecting to be as uninterested as I was with the previous installment because I don’t usually care for teenage drama. But Elisabeth Naughton proved me wrong! This book deals with the topic of cheating and lies. But also how people deal with grief differently. It can break you down or turn you mean! And definitely will test who you are as a person. Luis Moreno’s girlfriend Mallory is still dealing with her father walking out on the family, while Luis himself still has to deal with the emotional aftermath of his sister’s accident and pregnancy. But now Mallory’s best friend, and his childhood crush, Lacey might have feelings for him as well! If you can’t handle cheating, I would recommend you stay away from this whole serial in general. Like I’ve said before, this is more like a soap opera so you can expect cheating and best friends’ hurting each other. Jealousy and an intricate web of lies that will ruin lives when it all comes crashing down. This was an exciting installment in the saga and my favorite so far! When you are finished with this one you’ll want to have the next one in your hands right away. I know I was.

In soap operas, the drama runs high, the happy moments often get mired in the dark moments and the manipulators come out in droves. Crosswinds by Elisabeth Naughton takes us into the drama and angst of Storm’s teens, a perfect mirror of the adults who raised them. The current reigning teen queen of evil is Lacey, the girl you love to hate, even though you know this is make believe. Does she really have eyes on Mallory’s boyfriend? Is she willing to slash the bonds of friendship for a fling or is there more to her machinations? Meanwhile one son finally sees his father for the monster he is and reacts with all of the rage of youth. In full control of the series baton that was handed off to her, Elizabeth Naughton takes to writing the head-spinning angst, action and drama like a reporter to scandal! Her characters have come to life, she has presented each with their role and cut them lose to raise as much drama and havoc as possible! Never read a tale full of pain, angst and deceit that encompasses the chaos of an entire town? This entire series is like living in your worst nightmare, covered in barbed wire. Like they say, “Location, location, location,” welcome back to Storm. I received this ARC edition as part of the Rising Storm Review Tour.

So far, this series has surpassed any expectations I had. Each character is very well-developed and the episodes flow from one to the next seamlessly. I am eagerly awaiting episode 4! *ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review*

Oh wow...the twists and turns, the surprises....this series is awesome. There's backstabbing, lies, secrets and still more to come! Best friends turned enemies, families being torn apart, rumors being spread and really no one knows anything. I love it!! I received this copy for an honest review.

Short, fast paced and oh so much like a guilty pleasure daytime soap. Storm is a small town in Texas, where everyone knows everyone else. They have affairs with each other, there's an abusive couple, the town Sheriff operates in the grey area of the law and tragedy both brings the town together and tears it apart. Who will be left standing at the end? I will anxiously anticipate the next installment. What else to say about this it, you will be hooked.

Episode 3: Crosswinds by Elisabeth Naughton is so far the most scandalous of the series. Hurtful secrets start to come to light. Bad decisions start to be regretted. The impact on the children is revealed. In the wake of her brother Lacey is acting out and has become manipulative. So unlike herself. She sets her sites on the one boy that belongs to someone else. Each book in this series is better than the one before. This one hurt my heart because the whole time I'm reading it, I am thinking can the parents be so wrapped up in themselves that their not giving the children the guidance and support they need. I received an ARC of Crosswinds in exchange for an honest review.

3 - ”What the hell are you thinking?” Stars. Welcome to Storm, Texas the third installment in this weekly novella version of a soap opera is apparently the Teen-Edition, in that the story mainly focuses on Lacey Salt, Mallory Alvarez, Luis Moreno and Jeffry Rush. Think of every teen witch you ever remember coming across when watching shows like, The O.C, 90210 (new and old), Pretty Little Liars etc… and in a nutshell that sort of sums up how this novella and Lacey’s behavior as the story progresses, having been deemed the good girl by her parents and the town, in trying to deal with and overcome her grief Lacey decides it’s time to take her life in hand, and start living for herself, whatever the consequences and without a care for whoever she hurts in the process. ”Things are just… complicated right now.” The resurgence of an extremely miffed off Dakota Alvarez at the end of this novella ensures that there are likely to be plenty of fireworks in the forthcoming installments in this series. Dance In The Wind is up next, and I am interested to see which direction Jennifer Probst takes the story. ARC generously provided via InkSlinger PR, in exchange to the above honest review.
