From the Publisher
“Canetti dissolves politics into pathology, treating society as a mental activity--a barbaric one, of course--that must be decoded.” —Susan Sontag

I read this book in college and wrote a report on it. I am still writing that report 15 years later. If you want to understand current events, then you must know history. These are incredible insights into the psyhe of mankind.

Elias Canetti, writer, traveller, mystic and thinker, because he is all that, is trying in this book to find out all possible answers for lettle less manipulation of the people. War is only a mask for many other realities that need to be unmasked or ridiculed. This author decided to show us everything what he knows about this theme to free many of us too that cannot understand nature of tragical issues and terrible results of crowds moving. He likes also to escape of this but is conscious that only if he realy understands, he can let go. This terrifying picture needs to be examined and piecefully put on the side to allow people to learn from mistakes they made and make a new future.
