In Terah, Hetar, the Shadow Prince's realm, and the City; Lara the fairie has loved mortal and immortal men for decades. She has watched with pride her children become rulers. However, recently some have forgotten her pivotal role in the years of peace and prosperity. Her son the Twilight Lord Kolgrim plans to sire an offspring with the ability to destroy the lands. Lara's great-grandson Dominus Cadarn fears his kingdom is in trouble due to her magic. While her daughter Marzina has the fairie power to save the lands, but shows a rebellious inclination to take over her mother's role. Lara finds solace only with her beloved Shadow Prince Kaliq who vows to help her maintain peace in spite of her descendents. The sixth and final World of Hetar fantasy is a wonderful climax to the strong saga as Bertrice Small ties up the major threads with a fine family reckoning that feels like a Shakespearean play as the cast allows hate, jealousy and fear to rule their logic. Readers will appreciate the goings-n of a dysfunctional extended family in which the matriarch rules the roost while her descendents want dramatic change; not all motivated to make things better. Through the long years of Lara's fairy life we've watched as her Destiny unfolded. Always at her side has been her beloved Shadow Lord, Kaliq. He is not only her mentor, but her intended life-mate. Following the birth of her twin boys to the evil Twilight Lord who captured Lara, she has allowed the mortal world to proceed without her direct influence for many years. During this time one of the twins has taken control of the Twilight Lands and has his sights set on conquering both Hetar and Terah. He seeks a bride with the "right" bloodline to bring him additional magical powers. When Lara learns of the plan she pits herself once again against the forces of Evil to protect the world she loves. As tensions build the other magical races begin to leave for another world where they will be safe. Can Lara gain more time for the humans of Hetar to realize the error of their ways? Will Lara finally discover her destiny? Enjoy the spirited conclusion to this 6 book series. The conclusion may not be what you expect!!! Ms. Small has a true gift for storytelling. Although this series introduced a magical thread into her plot, I still enjoyed her character development and plot twists. Her signature brand of romantic "heat" is just as present here as in any of her other stories.

I loved how Bertrice Small kept true to the characters from her previous books. Lara's true destiny is revealed to her slowly and I loved the ending.

I have read all of Bertrice's books. Most were amazing and kept me on my toes. I was glad to see Lara find her destiny. What I am hoping for is a series of Marzina. Would that not be exciting. Just think the bad little good fairy. What beholds her life with her new found brother... So to finish up just like the series of Skye Omally, there was a second series staring the one and only Yasamine. I am hopeful the World of Hetar continues on
