About the Author

Ralph Waldt has hiked and snowshoed more than 10,000 miles within the Crown of the Continent ecosystem. For twelve years he served as resident naturalist at The Nature Conservancy's Pine Butte Preserve on the Rocky Mountain Front. He has led more than 1,200 interpretive hikes, taught hundreds of natural history courses, and spoken at universities, schools, and organizations across the nation. Crown of the Continent is his first book.

An absolutely wonderful book for anyone in love with the grandeur of the mountains. Waldt's photography is awesome and his insights meaningful. A must for everyone on my Christmas list.
