Title: Cry Baby Cry...or Not Author: Dewandus Johnson Publisher: Royal Roar Publishing Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Cry Baby Cry...or Not" by Dewandus Johnson My Rationalization: I will say this was my first read by this author and all I can say is this story was one that will keep your attention turning the pages to see what was coming next. There was 'never a dull moment from cover to cover.' My heart really went out to the main character Trina with her life spent with her mother Jackie who was born deaf and mute. Then we see as Trina moves on with Mistro and on to many other ones that greatly affected her life in one way or another. By the end of this story I was left still wondering will Trina ever get it all together with the person she was not with? Would Trina listen to what Yentl had told her? I found that this author was able to give the reader a story with the use of 'graphic details and oh yes an intriguing storyline' with lots of drama, twist/turns excitement and loads of action along with much despair. Be ready for quite a 'raw and gritty read' of 'Cry Baby Cry ...or Not' that definitely featured the bad and ugly of the life of Trina. Thank you to the author for the read and my presenting my opinion of the read.

This book had me from the first page to the last, This was a real prolific account of our child hood on the west side of Chicago. The detail and the specific account of situations. I was engulfed by the factual events depicted in this book about the life of the streets so many people know nothing about. The readers would never know any of this to be true unless they have been in the trenches themselves. My favourite part was how realistic the characters were which made me really relate to the story. This is a must read very engaging .

This book keeps you glued from the first page to the last. Just when you think you only have time to read a couple chapters, you find yourself making more time to read more because the storyline is so extremely intense. Knowing the author personally, I am not surprised that he could tell this story in such detail and I am very impressed and proud of him as an author. I didn't know he had it in him to sit down and let the keyboard tell all about the life of the streets for many people that outsiders would never know to be true unless they have been in the trenches themselves at some time in their life. By trenches I truly mean the gutters of the ghetto.
