This is a book about Milla. An American women who has her child stolen from her while she is in Mexico. She never gives up on her son and brings the reader with her on an emotional roller coaster ride. It was a book that will deeply touch the heart of any mother. I am an avid reader and it has been a long time since a book has affected me this intensely. I find myself laughing and crying through out the book and was never bored.

I've read 14 books of Linda Howards, and this one is by far the most moving. The story is one big emotional roller coaster that completly draws you in. Readers beware: the ending will leave you in tears! Otherwise enjoy!

This is the book that made her my Favorite Author. This was my first read from LH. I have read hundreds of books but nothing has ever come close. I would suggest when you're done start LH the John's Medina series mind blowing plots especially Kiss me While I Sleep.

This is a heartbreaking story. It begins in a very peaceful, contented , buccolic atmosphere. David. & milla are a young couple ecstatic with each other & their beautiful new born son. Then their baby, jason is kidnapped & the horrible nightmare begins. Years pass, but mlla won't give up looking for her son. It's a riveting story where in her search, milla is pulled into the evil world of baby kidnapping for adoption & the sex slave trade. Desperate, she hires james diaz, a feared, dangerous, unemotional , yet intense bounty hunter/assassin. Their first meeting is a shaky start, but also from their first meeting, an undeniable bond begins to grow between two very different people.

This book is a must read about black market babies and missing persons, betrayal by friends, passionate love, desperate searches, and life and death struggles. There is a heroic fight to save her child, but lost. Milla sets up an organization to help the missing, and has a lot of success with that. Ultimately, there is a semi-happy ending. This book speaks about unspeakable horrors and what unscrupulous people will do to others for money and prestige.

It read till the wee hours of the morning because I just couldn't put it down. Needless to say, I loved it! This book had substance and was incredibly well written. Word of caution: have tissues near by. But don't fret, the ending is wonderful.

One thing about Linda Howard that to me separates her from other popular authors is intensity. Her characters may start out leading a "normal" life, and then extraordinary, most often dangerous events causes the change of that character. Intense circumstances certainly play out here, when this woman's child is snatched away, never to be found. As time passes she starts a search program for other lost children, and in the course of that she stumbles onto a "murdering for body parts ring." Introduce her antagonist, the very intense bounty hunter who has never met anyone like her. It is quite a ride, with attraction, belief systems that do not coincide, and extreme danger and horrible betrayal. A robotic, unemotional man gains a heart, and our lovely heroine faces her demons and exhibits marvelous courage and opens her heart once more. This is an INTENSE story and I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying it.
