Overview

Can a delirious curse destroy the saintly elfin race?

Zolotan has ideas of his own and creates beings without souls, for the sole purpose of doing his bidding. His colleagues do not like the possibility of a wizard having an army of creatures at his command. The head sorcerers judge the wavering wizard and their sentence is just. The transgressor is to undo his madness by destroying all his creations immediately.

All seems right, until he joins his creations and instead attacks the wizard stronghold. After a magical battle that devastates the land surrounding the wizard community, he is defeated. However, the old sorcerer's unrepentant deeds cause the wizard council to chastise him severely.

It is shortly afterwards that elfs cross paths with the dying wizard. On his deathbed Zolotan asks the elfs for help. He wants to be moved to a faraway land to heal, but the unsuspecting elfs knew he wouldn't survive, so they wait. Losing patience in his delirium, he curses them to a slow dead. It is a threat the elfs never take seriously until a hundred years later when their people come down with a strange sickness they can't explain.

There is nothing they can do about it. If they return to their motherland they might spread the curse to the rest of their race and have it disappear forever.

Their only glimmer of hope lies in a servant of kings who must learn to love the elfs before he will attempt to save them. But no one, elf or mankind, has ever heard of this man. Nor does anyone know where to find him. Can the best healer in the land find this savior before their race is gone forever?

I have read, reviewed, and enjoyed all of Anna del C. Dye's books. In my opinion, this one far surpasses the rest. Normally, when I review a book, I give a summary. It is difficult to summarize "Curse of The Elves" without giving too much away. "Curse of the Elves" is a love story. The tale begins with the love of Lathenyl, an elf, and Katelynn, a human. Their love story is beautiful. The plot moves forward twenty years; there is a curse upon the Elves, many are dying. An old wizard told them to search for one who served royalty, one that could reject them and could only heal them if he loved them. Yasmeen and her father traveled the realm, searching for the one that could heal the elves. Along their journey, they meet Lath. Sometime later, Lath and Yasmeen are reunited. Could Lath be the one? Could their love survive mistrust and cultural differences? What will lie ahead for Lath? Will he find happiness? "Curse of the Elves" is an exquisite blend of romance and action. The book reads a bit like a fairy tale (I love fairy tales) with a happy ending. Lath is the Cinderella in this story. Dye is a master at characterization. This book is suitable for all ages. The story is not filled with sensuality or with vulgarity. Dye's stories do not need that sort of thing. The plot is strong, the characters are lovable and the settings are superb. This book could have almost been two books. We move from the romance of Lathenyl and Katelynn to the romance of Yasmeen and Lath. I hope Dye writes a sequel. I would like to take another moment to comment on Dye's writing skills. Few can surpass her. With each book, she sets the bar higher. I am always amazed that she finds another way to improve, what I consider, perfection. She uses visually rich language. The action scenes come alive on the pages without being revolting. Dye gives just the right amount of detail without over-doing it. Excellent job!

The story of a eternal race that for no fault of their own are curse by a wicked wizard. When they star to slowly die, one of the elfs with a premonition gift may be their only hope to find their healer. A healer no man or elf has ever heard of. This book is divided in two times. The first one is the love story of an elf who fall for a mortal woman. Their beautiful courtship and their straggles as man an wife. The second part is the elfs search for their healer and their straggles to no only find him but to convince him to save them. Beautiful, inspire, clean. The romance though there it isn't as heavy as in a romance book nor is the main focus.

I loved this book. But it was not just the story that had me captivated, it was the writing. It was beautiful, flawless, and well crafted. I was completely lost in the relationship of Lath's parents. The story was equally wonderful, with great imaginary and flow. You fall in love with the characters and DO NOT want the story to end. I am grateful I had the chance to read this novel and can't wait to read more from Anna! Thank you Anna!

I stayed up to finish the book. What a fun read! Well done. If you like elfs and orks with a heavy dose of romance, you will love this book. The first part of the book details the story of Lath's parents. It is the story of Lath that really pulled me in. I LOVED the protective male and the showing of the United Order. Good job! Well written and fast paced, this was an enjoyable read for any age.

With her vivid details and expressive language, Anna Del C Dye takes you on a journey you will never forget. Her lovable characters immediately pull you into their story and keep you on the edge of your seat, as you are pulled into their world of war from the get-go. Lathenyl and Katelynn's love story tugs at your heartstrings and makes you yearn for more. Later in the book, that void being filled by their son, Lathenyl (Lath), and his love for Yasmeen. The book begins with Lathenyl and Katelynn falling in love, even though Lathenyl is an elf and Katelynn is human. Katelynn becomes entranced by the elfin race and desires to live among them. But Lathenyl is fighting a war, alongside the humans, to spare both their races. Then, against all odds, Katelynn finds herself pregnant. Later on, a curse is on the elfs and they must find the one who can save them. Lath does not even know he is an elf. Is it possible he could be the one they have been waiting for? With Yasmeen's help, Lath learns more about his own race and discovers not only a love for her but for the elfin people as well. Will Lath be able to save these people he has come to love? I don't normally read a lot of fantasy type novels, but Dye's descriptions of the elfin people, their customs, and their home made me wish I could see into her world for myself. The story is a perfect blend of romance and war. And it is also very clean and not too graphic, which made the story even better! I would recommend it to anyone who loves to curl up with a good book.

This is a grand tale with fabulous detail, good characters and story. Anna tells a tale that has heart, warmth and charm. It is a realistic fantasy with people you can admire. they do the right thing and they live in a place where we would all like to live. It may bring a little sadness before arriving at great happiness but it makes the journey worthwhile. Highly recommend for all ages.

As I've come to count on, Anna del c Dye has written yet another exhilarating elf book. "Curse of the Elfs" will have you laughing, crying, and sitting on the edge of your seat. I have read some good stories, but what sets this author apart from the rest, is her character ability. It only takes a few pages for you to fall head over heels in love for them. They are genuine, caring, exciting, and fun. These characters have real life qualities that anyone would look for in a friend or lover. Lathenyl and Katelynn have a true love. Katelynn, a human, learns about elfs when she meets Lathenyl. She falls in love with their ways and makes the choice of wanting to live with them forever. Their gentle, intelligent ways are hard to resist. When Katelynn and Lathenyl end up pregnant they are shocked. Mixed marriage between the races rarely makes it possible to produce offspring. This rare, special gift they were given is a blessing. Years later their son, Lathenyl, who does not know he is an elf, meets an elfen princess he falls in love with. She teaches him their ways and he thrives. Little does he know that he is the elf all the other elfs have been searching for. With such a bit responsibility, Lathenyl does what he can to help save the elfen race. Will his ability be enough to save all those he has come to love? Anna del c Dye has a true gift for storytelling. She grabs hold of her readers and takes them on a journey to a mythical place that has us all wishing we would never leave. I cried right along with the characters when they were sad, and rejoiced in their good fortune. They became a piece of me throughout this story. The efls kind ways has me yearning to adopt some of their ways and to become a better person. This is a great story for teens and adults alike. The teaching moments are invaluable, such as how to treat your partner, be truthful, and to work hard. An amazing story!

I got this book at Barnes & Nobles when I was looking for a book to read. I have read other books by Anna and decided to give it a try. Usually I wonder what is in the book I hold in my hand, but not with this one. It was a great decision. It has a great story, no creepy, no racy and certainly a pleasure to read. I know I can trust Anna's books and look forward to read all her work. Thank you for the great tale.

It was a great reading. It has romance but it doesn't get mushy like en many other books. It is easy reading and a good book for the whole family.
