Cat McDaniel is a strong character - no one should mess with her. She is caught in the center of a mystery and proves to be quite a sleuth. The backdrop of baseball is different than other types of mystery books. Being a lover of baseball, I really "got into" this story. The characters are all quite interesting. Paige seems quite shallow and that causes some issues with her relationship with Cat - who doesn't care for the choices Paige makes. Cat will do anything for her baseball guys and doesn't want anyone to mess with them. Then - a body shows up dead and Cat is determined to find the killer. I have not read the first book - though I may go back and read it but it definitely wasn't necessary to follow this book easily. This was a relatively easy read, fun and just all around good book to read on a nice rainy day (which we were "fortunate" to just have). Overall I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I received this book from Partner in Crime Tours. All opinions, good or bad, are mine.

Fun Cozy Mystery! Get ready for hilarious moments and some twists and turns! Cat has the reporter’s instinct and it’s what drives this whole story. Her desire to do what she is told to do clashes heavily with the reckless rich girl ways of Paige. Paige falls in love with Chance because he’s handsome and treats her well, while Cat is seriously suspicious he’s up to something. At the same time, Cat has some feelings for Junior and Paige can’t stand to be around him. Add in a body of an aspiring baseball player and you have all the ingredients for a fun read. This book is the 2nd book in Foul Ball series and I read it first with no problems at all. I’m going to go back and read book one as soon as possible. Jen Estes writes this fun little baseball series in such a way that you can fall in love even if you don’t like baseball. Thank you to Partners in Crime Tours and Jen Estes for the review copy. It in no way influenced my review.
