Overview

Cyberstorm by Matthew Mather, Tom Taylorson

This is only the second book I've read that I felt the need to write a review. I randomly came across this book three days ago and instantly became enthralled in the story. The writing style pulls you in to the point that you stop realizing you are reading a book. The characters are well developed and allow quickly care for them and their well being. I could waste time telling you about the plot but there are plenty of those reviews. With that said, the thing you need to know is that the story makes you think about how easily our current way of life could end and the things humanity would have to do to survive. Quick easy read with a story that entices you to constantly keep going to the next page...even when you have to get some sleep. Might not be the greatest, most helpful review but I wanted to portray how I really felt about this book.

While the writing may lack a certain poetry of prose, the story arc and honest character development more than makes up for it. This is a fast and exciting read, and you will find yourself thinking about its concepts long after you put the book down. Enjoy!

4.5 Star An end of the world tale depicting what could happen if someone attacked multiple government and civilian internet infrastructures. As most of the power in the U.S. is connected to various internet programs, this would be a scary scenario. What would you do if all technology came to a sudden standstill? With no power, no running water, now heat, how would you survive? Are you prepared to last for several weeks with no trips to the grocery store? Those are just a few questions I asked myself as I was reading this book. I guess I have to answer that honestly, no I am not as prepared as I should be. Their is always multiple end of the world books to read. In my opinion, this is one of the better ones as Mr. Mather has taken time to study what may be needed to survive in this type of crises. The only issue I had with this book is the ending. I felt that the author could have developed a better ending. All in all though, this is one book that I would highly recommend.
