On a playground in Massapequa, Long Island, New York, a willful and talented eight-year-old girl named Pat makes the life-changing decision to become a soccer player. But not only does she play, she excels.

This is the story of Patricia Louise Masotto, a superior and gifted athlete who began her promising future in sports in the summer of 1972. Her focus, competitiveness, and determination inspired her fellow teammates as well as her coach, father, and number-one fan, Peter Masotto. Follow the story of father and daughter, coach and player as they begin their journey from Massapequa, on to travel teams in high school, and, finally, to college soccer teams.

A life-changing story that will inspire and encourage, Dad's Masterpiece: The Patricia Masotto Story is a testament to the life of a young woman's passion for the game and her father's unending love for his daughter.

I had the honor of playing with and against Pat growing up in Long Island, I was from Hicksville. We played soccer for many years even through Highschool. But my greatest memories were when we played together in the Empire State Games, 1980 we brought home the gold. We played together for 2 yrs. We all had so much fun and Pat would definitely have you in stitches, Annemarie was with us too. Mr Massotto I remember was always present such a strong advocate for the girls. It's been many years since then but I never forgot Pat and it was so good to hear about the book from an old teammate via Facebook. Loved the book, brought me back to happy times. Losing Pat was such a shock to us all who knew her. Wherever the Massotto family may be I just wanted to thank you for sharing this story. God Bless. Joanne Mullings-Reese

"Dad's Masterpiece: The Patricia Masotto Story" is a wonderful tribute to Pat's life. This is a warm tender story of a father's devotion to his daughter's soccer career and his true commitment to his family. I laughed and cried as I read the account of this tremendous athletes' short yet amazing life. The story of this young athlete and her father's phenomenal dedication was moving beyond words. As the mother of two young children, it made me even more aware of the fact that they are true treasures and reminded me how grateful I am for them every moment of their lives. Mr. Clark captures the true essence of family life in and interpersonal relationships in recounting Patrica's short yet spectacular life.

What a wonderful story and a must read for any Massapequa soccer player, coach, trainer, administrator and board member. It reinforces that the sport is about the kids and not the politics.

This touching story fits all ages. It's for the headstrong teenager, who think they are fooling their parents. It's for the invincible Twenty somethings, who are caught between college, growing up-moving on, and a parent's love. It's for the parents who love their children, and share in their dreams. It's also a wake up call to parents to love all your children, no matter their talents. To treat those you love and care about with kind words, for they may be your last.

Dad's Masterpiece is a wonderful true story of the infinite love between father and daughter. The book made me hug my children tighter and wish I never had to let them grow up. The story reminds one to treasure each minute we have on earth, to be passionate about the things we love to do, and most of all to tell those we love how much we love them.

This book brought back so many childhood memories for me. Growing up on Long Island, I was able to recognize and relate to the many locations and situations in the book. I laughed and I cried as it reminded me of my childhood and growing up. This book is a quick read and will fully absorb you where you won't want to put it down. I recommend this book for anyone who values their family and friends and the relationship they share.
