This collection of pictures is a celebration of the short life of a promising young artist. Joanna Butler studied art and fashion design. Her life and work were a smiling blaze of colour and optimism until she was struck down and paralysed by an extreme form of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. Five years of serious illness preceded her death at twenty-four. However, despite enormous suffering and such a long period of confinement in a darkened room, she left a legacy of light, love and joy for others.
