Like its predecessors, Dance Essentials, Vol. 3 collects a few worthwhile dance singles along with flavor-of-the-month tracks. The standouts on this volume include Underworld's "Two Months Off," ATB's "You're Not Alone," and the "2003 Marco V" remix of the venerable dance standard, Energy 52's "Cafe Del Mar." The rest of the album serves up poppy house tracks, such as Mad'house's four-to-the-floor cover of "Like a Prayer," Karaja's "She Moves (La La La)," Diana Fox's "Where Are You Now," and Jan Johnston's "Am I on Pause," which are fun and energetic, but offer little in the way of depth or creativity. Still, the main purpose of collections like Dance Essentials, Vol. 3 is to keep the beat going, which this album does in a relatively stylish fashion.
