Danger at the Zoo written by Kathleen Ernst is an American Girl mystery about Kit Kittredge, an American Girl historical character, growing up during the USA's Great Depression. Kit has recently gotten herself a summer job at the local newspaper, the Cincinatti Register, writing a children's column there. Kit is searching for a story for her column, and while she is looking for one, she stumbles upon an old friend, a hobo named Will. Will was looking for some work, and had decided to stop by at the Kittredges for a visit. However, Kit begs Will to stay and Kit's friend, Sterling, suggests an available job at the local zoo. Will decides to take the job, and he decides to stay at the Kittredges' boarding house for a while. However, after Will gets the job, strange things start to happen. Every morning, the zoo's manager finds the monkey house door open, and it is Will's duty to clean and check on the monkey house every night, before he goes home. The staff is starting to blame Will, and Will is afraid he might be fired from his new job so quickly. But Kit is determined to help her friend with help from Sterling and to find a good news story for her column. Kit starts to look for possible clues and track down suspects, and so does Sterling, while at the same time trying to help others. Things start to go missing from the Kittredges' house as well, and Kit is more determined than ever to find the real culprit or culprits. But Kit and Sterling start to find more twists and turns than answers, whhich make them work harder on the mystery, but the answer is something none of them ever expected, and something you won't expect either! Once again, American Girl is successful with another engaging book, just like the other books in the series. Kathleen ernst also succeeds, being able to portray true mystery and creative crime-solving, and for that, i think her book, no doubt, deserves five stars. I would recommend this book to any girl who loves American girl, Kit Kittredge, mystery, or the zoo! This will prove to be a mysterious, fn read for you!!!!!!

As she went to Mr.Gibbs office. She gave him her most hard working story. But Mr.Gibbs wanted it to be more exciting and interesting story. So when Kit went to the tree house with her best friends; Grace saw a moving truck. So the man want to Grace's mother and said "We are here to sell your house." "Why" "You don't have that much money to pay all this" A few days later Kits mom is letting people stay at their house for money. Also kit has been sending letters to her dad. Because her dad is moving out of the state for a job. Later on in the story these two men saw a hobo code. That has been sending messages to other hobos. Kit and Stanlty have been spying and the libranen lady has been staling them so kit can tell the police. The to men got arested cause they stole money from kit's mom. I would recommend this book to girls ages 10 and up; that like mystery. I like this book because its so good that you don't want to put the book down. I want you to read this book or you're going to miss the best book of your life.

Kit has a newspaper assignment to write a children¿s article, but she¿d much rather write a real piece about a mystery that¿s coming together at the zoo. Is her hobo friend, Will, stealing? Who¿s been causing the trouble? Who¿s that man crying outside the gate? Everything comes together with Will keeping his job and the mystery solved- Kit even sells her articles!
