Maddie Springer is back and in fine form. Even with the challenges of shedding the baby fat and juggling two extremly lively twins, she cannot resist the siren call of a mystery when Dana's boyfriend is accused of murder on the set of a dancing reality show. Ricky doesn't do himself any favors by being secretive about his alibi, but with Dana and Maddie on the case, secrets are revealed along with a few twists on the way. An excellent, humorous, and thrilling read.

I'm usually a fan of more serious mysteries and horror, but read the first High Heels book for a break, and was hooked! The characters are fun and likable. I would call them light and fun reading - you definitely have some laughs and get involved with the story. I don't like the novellas as much, but the books are great. Even now that she has the twins, the stories are still fresh and not bogged down. Look forward to many more of these!

Delightful fun for fans of Gemma Halliday or a great introduction to Maddie Springer for those who have not read earlier High Heels Mysteries. Motherhood is barely slowing down Maddie, although it is making her think before she acts. She has gotten better about thinking throughout the series and the progression here is natural; she knows she is probably screwing up even as she does it. In this one, despite her assurance to Ramirez that she will leave the investigating to him, she falls to Dana's pleas to help Ricky when he is suspected of murdering his dancing partner. The twins are adorable, her mother is still tacky, Marco is still Marco, and Jack is as hot as ever; Dana,on the other hand, is a little off. That's not too surprising when she suspects that her boyfriend cheated on her with the recently deceased partner, but she still refuses to believe that he could kill someone.

All her "High Heel" books so far have kept me reading, I hate to put them down, {I also read Evonovich but her giggles are becoming far and few between}, Halliday, touches all walks of life with a flair of the pen to entertain you. She puts drama, family, insanity, glamour, intrigue and style, all together and a lot more. You never know what to expect, except the dead body magnet will be there and never let you down. I'm reading #8 now and still laughing {my husband looks at me like I belong in a mental institution}

The plot and escapades of Maddie & her Cohorts in Crime-Detection keep the book very entertaining. I've read 1~6 of the High Heel Series and liked them all. I plan on reading more of Gemma's books as long as she keeps writing them.

 I've read ALL of the books in this series & they just keep getting better & better! Gemma Halliday's latest in the series "Fearless in High Heels" will keep you laughing and gasping until the end! I read this in one night and kept waking my poor hubby up because I couldn't stop laughing out loud! Then you add in the twins, Maddie investigating the murder to clear her best friend Dana & you have a book you CAN'T put down! It keeps you in suspense until the end! I love that Maddie had twins... She's not the character that I ever saw having twins & it's those touches that make Gemma Halliday an author to read!
