This was definitely a pleasant surprise. I enjoy mystery/suspenseful type stories and this is one of the first (that I remember) that included romance. I'm weary of suspenseful/mystery type books because I don't want to figure it out right away. This did not have that problem! I was certainly surprised when it was revealed on who was involved. It had a good balance of the mystery along with the romance. Lacey was a good leading lady. She was pretty normal and definitely had a good head on her shoulder. It was a bit annoying how much back and forth on her feelings she went through, but considering the circumstances it was definitely understandable. I liked Caleb. He never wavered on his feelings, nor did he really seem shady or to be a liar. He really seemed to be there for Lacey and was helpful in figuring out what happened to her father. The main thing that bothered me was how quickly one of the bad guys was revealed. I can see why it happened as it did add to the story, but I was worried I would be able to guess pretty early what had happened. I thought I had it figured out a couple of times, but was wrong both times. That's a sign of a good mystery in my eyes! I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more by this author.

I loved this suspense romance! Where is lacey's dad? Who took him and why? Was it his girlfriends son or was it biotech? Why did days before Bill was taken did he send Caleb his Million Dollar cure for cancer? Lacey had a wonderful summer in love with Caleb years before but Caleb & her dad thought it would be best for her not to move to Chicago with the man she loved. It broke her heart but she moved on and had her friends, work and her dad. Now her world is flipped upside down. Her dad is missing and Caleb is now back in town... He wants to help find his friend Bill (Lacey's dad) She can't let him stomp on her heart for a second time! She is saying No No No but her heart is saying Yes. She doesn't want to get hurt. She is content with her life until Caleb was able to prove her wrong by loving her but will she let him love her? I loved this story! I was hooked from the first chapter... It had a great flow and alot of suspense that I just had to know what happened. Thank you so much Michelle Grey for letting me read and review your awesome book can't wait for the next book! I'm defiantly a fan of your Awesome work :)

**reviewed for around Table Book Reviews** To what lengths would you go to to save your father? Working together with your first love who broke your heart? Putting your own life on the line? Unfortunately for Lacey, this is all a reality.  She thought she was going to be coming home to some wonderful news, hoping that her father and Mona were going to be sharing that they were engaged. What she was not expecting was that her father would be missing. Not only her  father, but also Mona's son. That last part is nothing new. Spencer is known to be gone for days, but the timing is too coincidental. On top of all of this, her ex, Caleb, comes back in to town looking for her father as Caleb holds the big discovery that he was working on before his disappearance.  I love when I'm able to find a good romantic suspense novel. Both Lacey and Caleb are wonderfully strong and passionate characters. Lacey is feisty, brave, and very independent. She'd have to be, to be willing to put her own life down to save her father. Caleb is willing to do whatever it takes to make her see that he's on her side. He wants her to trust in him. He's amazingly sweet and caring.  Dangerous Ally was a great read that I truly enjoyed getting sucked in to. Michelle Grey has done a wonderful job with this one!

This novel started out a little slow but was quite interesting with all of the background information that Grey fills her readers in with.  It kept getting better from there.  By the end I was quite immersed in the lives of these characters.  I quite enjoyed the biotechnology behind the story.  It was a brilliant basis that made this story stand out in the crowd, even if the romance portion of the novel was a bit predictable at times.  But hey, it’s a romance novel.  They tend to all have a HEA. The main characters in this novel were quite interesting and driven.  I became rather attached to them and they were definitely the type of people that you wanted to see succeed.  The supporting cast could have been a bit more developed so that we had more of an idea who they were, but they did serve their roles quite nicely as they were.   Overall, this novel presented a very cohesive whole that brought you from point A to point B with a smile on your face.  It was an enjoyable read that I’d recommend to those who enjoy romance with a bit of suspense.   Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Excellent job, Michele! Great story with twists and turns that keep you hooked from the very beginning of the story. Easy to read, but hard to put down. Proud that I know and went to school with this very talented author. Looking forward to the next book.
