This was an amazing book with a compelling romance and a lot of mystery and skulduggery. The author has really evoked the Edwardian period beautifully and I loved the restraint as well as the subtle subtexts of the story. It's not a conventional romance in many ways, and this is partly why I enjoyed it so much. It had a heartwarming ending but it certainly wasn't predictable.
