Danny Sherwood grew up in a home where alcohol and people were sometimes abused, a background that trained him as a protector. Perhaps that's why he is now a trooper with the Arizona Highway Patrol. When he is called upon to stop a dangerous speeder, he has no idea how the moment may change his life. Manon DuPre spent her childhood with negligent parents and her past year in the clutches of a brutal man. Now she is running for her life and Officer Sherwood stands in her way. When she is stopped in Nowhere, Arizona, she fears the worst, not knowing how this moment may change her future. A chance encounter on an Arizona highway brings together two very different people who may just be perfect for each other.

About the Author

Susan Aylworth started her first book when she was nine. "It was called Buff, The Proud Stallion. I wrote eight whole pages." For her fifth grade career day, she stated her ambition to become "a rich and famous author." Decades later, she is pleased to have achieved the 'author' part of that goal. A former university professor, she enjoys researching backgrounds and careers for her novels. "It's one way to live many lives all at once."

Servant to two spoiled cats, she lives in northern California with her husband of 44 years, also a writer. She loves hanging out with her seven children, their perfect-for-them spouses and 23 grandchildren. When she can't be with her blood family, she hangs with her fictional characters, the children of her mind. She has twelve novels available and a lucky 13th scheduled for publication in June 2014. Susan loves words “in all polite forms” and has also published poetry and a one-woman play. She loves to hear from readers. Contact her at www.susanaylworth.com, susan.aylworth. or @SusanAylworth.

This book was a story about Manon DuPre, a girl trying to run away from an abussive relationship. She is caught by the police officer Danny Sherwood. The story was captivating me from the moment I put my eyes on it. I never knew how an abusive relation was like. IT took them a lot of time to get over it all but it was a great book.

Manon DuPre is running for her life. When she gets pulled over by Officer Danny Sherwood, circumstances force her to stay put for a while. Danny hears her story and immediately feels protective of her. As Manon quickly becomes a part of this small community, the danger is never far away. Manon grew so much throughout the book. She began to see herself in the way others did. She began to find confidence and worth. There were great lessons for all of us. She and Danny were just cute together! It was great to see their romance blossom. I loved the way the town supported Manon and helped her. The small town spirit was very real! I really enjoyed this book! The romance was good, the suspense continued throughout, all of the characters were relatable…great book! I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Manon is trying to escape an abusive relationship. She is literally speeding away to save her life. When she is stopped by Danny, a policeman, the last thing she wants is another man in her life. Danny is used to protecting people and can see how scared she is. He promises her that is she stops running he will protect her. Manon and Danny are able to form a sweet friendship built on trust. The only problem is they both have insecurities that get in the way.....this was a great book and the first I have read of Susan's. I see there are other books in this series I will be looking into the others because this was worth the read!
