Take one recently deceased Voodoo Priestess who refuses to believe she's mortality-impaired…
Add one tall, dark, mysterious Bloodsucker who's developed a ragin' allergy to blood and all things plasma-related…
Mix in a half-Witch/half-Voodoo Priestess with her own Detective Agency, a one-eyed, talking Black Cat who wants to be a stand-up comedian, and a partner who's been kidnapped by a backwater, hillbilly family of Otter Shifters from the wrong side of the swamp…
And you've just entered the hell that is my life.
Some days you're the pin. Some days you're the voodoo doll…
And some days there's not enough coffee or chocolate in the whole wide world to deal with the shenanigans that fall from the sky like bird poop on a freshly washed car.
Goddess, send help, I feel like a pin cushion.

This is one of my favorite series from Julia Mills. Daphne, her mate Etienne (vampire), Evangeline ghost), Ralphie (wolf shifter and brother to Etienne), and Dexter (one eye cat) have to save the swamp critters from a century old curse and otters within more or less 24 hrs. Daphne is a fun, quick read. The banter between the characters is really good and funny. There is a little bit of steamy romance because of course Etienne has to "claim" his mate before going into battle. I volunteered to read a pre-release copy for my honest opinion. I recommend this series and author
I love this series. And this book was one of the best yet. We get Daphne who is a riot all by herself but add in one fat black cat with tude, one ghostest with the mostest and a family feud, and a bunch of backwood shifters and it's hilarious. Grab your copy and have a great laugh.
