Really enjoyed this sweet Christian romance. Look forward to the feast of the story in the rest of the series. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Dare to dream again Gloria is a widow and has been for a long time and never desired to date. She has her two girls and one is handicapped. I love how Derek and Gloria meet, helping at vacation bible school. Brings back memories of my childhood and my daughter ‘s childhood. This is a short story and it is refreshing to read one that is short and inspirational. This is part of a series but is a stand alone but I definitely want to read more about the characters especially Susannah. I will be putting on my to read list. Even though this is fiction there is something we can all relate to, maybe not personally but someone you may know. This is about hard working mother, an very helpful sister and finding love when not expected. I received an complementary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.

Four years of happy married life and then he was gone. Did she even feel like she deserved to find love again? A sweet story that had me laughing out loud and wondering how I would react at other times. A little boy that just wants to know more about Jesus, a mother that has a multitude of questions and an angry father. Can Gloria be there for them as well as the rest of the VBS kids? There were many things to ponder as I read this book. Do we seek guidance from the Lord when confronted by decisions or do we go our own way? I received this ebook through CelebrateLit and this review gives my personal impressions and opinions.

The author has the ability to write a story that digs down deep into your soul. She is able to compel your sense of emotions and bring them to the surface to feel what each character is feeling. This story is not just about a woman finding love again, but about finding herself. Gloria is one of those rare people who have the gift of compassion. She demonstrates it through the care of her daughter with cerebral palsey with love, patience and devotion. I never once heard her complain or say poor me. I loved Gloria so much that I wanted more of her story. Her love for her husband was undeniable. I loved reading about VBS and the author displays a very accurate account of what goes on at one. The children are excited to be there and they are hungry for attention. There is a very special young boy who attends that stole my heart. This child wanted to know who Jesus was so bad that he endured the abuse of his father just to be there. I wanted to hug him and shout out to the world that Jesus has his back. I appreciate the openness about abuse in the story. having taught VBS many years I have encountered parents who were offended that we talked about Jesus. I never backed down and I admired how calm Gloria was in a similar situation. The other main character in the story is Derek. That man is truly amazing. He is humble, giving and has integrity pouring through his veins. I loved how the relationship between him and Gloria was not rushed. One thing that really stuck out to me was the mention that Gloria realized she might have idolized her husband. That revelation changed her outlook on so many things. Has God brought these two together ? Will Gloria be able to let go of her husband's memory and allow a new man into her life? There are a few things I have to say about the book that may seem picky to others. I don't like that the author rushed the ending . The other thing that really bothered me was the over use of the word crass. After awhile I cringed every time I saw it. There are so many other words that could have been used in place of crass and I wished the author had done that. I will say that this author is one of my favorites and I always come away with a sense of a deeper relationship with God each time I read her books. I am looking forward to the next book that continues the story and hope to get some closure on questions that the story didn't answer. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

What's that thing in your life?  You know what I'm talking about.  That thing that happened that changed your life forever, in some ways good, in some ways bad, but now you're stuck.  We all have had one of those.  That thing that keeps you in the past, afraid to dream again. What's your "thing" from the past? For Gloria, it's her husband Stan, who died more than a decade ago, leaving her to parent 2 little girls including one with cerebral palsy that requires constant care.  For Derek, it's the death of his parents, leaving him to parent his little sister.  They both put family first, sacrificed much with no question or doubt, grew closer to God, but in a way, their lives stopped moving forward.  They've been so busy taking care of others that they've had no chance to dream again.  And how can Gloria think about the future when she's still dreaming of her dead husband? Dare to Dream Again tells the beginning of their story, a story where God orchestrates a VBS scheduling conflict to bring two people together.  We get to watch Gloria's eyes and heart come back to life as she imagines a hope for the future, and yet also wrestles with where to put the feelings of her past.  I enjoy Alana's suspense novels more because that's just my preference.  But this was a sweet little story.  It's a light story, a quick read, but it made me think. FYI, this is a prequel novella to a series, so it will leave you hanging at the end. I don't have Gloria's experience. I'm not a widow, a single mom caring for her disabled daughter.  No, the things that hold me in the past aren't circumstances of death or abandonment.  They are my own choices.  And every time I start to think about the future, I think about the past.  Will you accept me if you know me?  Will I be able to trust you?  Will I be able to trust me?  Will you be disappointed or disillusioned?  God fully forgives my past mistakes, but sometimes it is hard to let go. And so I realized that Gloria's story is for me, too.  I can pray alongside Gloria, "Lord, help me to guard my heart, and give me the wisdom to know your will."  And at the same time, I can know that it's okay to dream again.  It's okay to step into whatever great thing God has for my life - and yours - because our God loves us enough to bring those great things in just the right time. I received a review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Gloria lost her husband after only four years of marriage and she has raised her two daughters lone, with God help. Now forty-one year old and with her older daughter Susannah planning to leave as a missionary and Kitty her younger with cerebral palsy, she has to face a new life. When she meets Derek in a church event and he seems interested in her, can she have a second chance in love? God will guide her to her happiness.

Dare To Dream Again, by Alana Terry, is an engaging love story. Having had a wonderful, although brief marriage, Gloria is a widow who truly feels no inclination towards another romantic relationship. But her daughter, Susannah, has other ideas in mind. Fun to see how things unfold in the story as reluctance turns to dreams of possibility. I really liked the relationship of Gloria and Susannah. Terry's books never disappoint and I look forward to reading more of this family's story. I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

Grace dealt with loads of negative input. Constantly being berated with negative input is in fact abuse. The years of verbal abuse Grace received has finally ended, the question is what happens now? Abuse is abuse. period dot com. Unfortunately we as women make excuses for the ones we love be it right or wrong doesn't matter. Until Grace stands the devil will have his day. Fortunately Grace receives a call that changes her life for good. Unfortunately until she accepts the blessing for what it is and turns her life around nothing will change, she will still be imprisoned by her dreams. She will need to take her own advice and trust God, seeking Him out in prayer. Funny how that advice thingie comes back to bite us in the. . . . Great story I am loving the way this author does business. One of her earlier books hit on some triggers for me. I approached her with my misgivings and suggestions and she took them with ease. I love an author who is willing to talk to her readers and make a change. A woman after my own heart. . . a true Child of the Most High God. Nothing but love my friend and a well enjoyed read.
