Overview

Just over forty years ago Garo Nichanian made the decision to start his own business and he never looked back. Born in Egypt to parents who survived the Armenian Genocide he immigrated to Canada as a young man and grew to become a successful Canadian entrepreneur in one of the most competitive fields in business: Information Technology. This is the story of his life, full of challenges, success, and accomplishments.

A story filled with personal experiences and facts based on situations that may help anyone with ambition to progress their careers to reach self-actualization, or to find their place in the world. As a graduate of Electro-Technical Italian College "Istituto Salesiano", and after spending several years as a field engineer for pre-computer era data-processing equipment, Garo ventured into a sales position which eventually lead him to achieve the status as a top salesman in both Canada and the United States. These accomplishments helped him reach higher management positions in evolving high-tech IT businesses like Canadian General Electric, Honeywell Information Systems, Xerox of Canada among others. The diversity of the corporate cultures at each of the aforementioned establishments was the best management experience he could have ever acquired. It changed him and dared him to accomplish future endeavours with courage and success. In this book he wants to encourage others by sharing his experiences.

This book is a compelling autobiography that will appeal to anyone with an interest in Canadian success stories, the history of the high-tech IT business, travel, arts and culture. Readers will also learn about the Armenian genocide, the collapse of the Kingdom Egypt, the Quiet Revolution in Quebec, and how the technology industry developed from the 1960's through to the present day. As an accomplished bass-baritone and a cultural promoter/ambassador, Garo also provides insight into the classical singing world, along with anecdotes that shed light on the cultural and political climate experienced during this lifetime.
