Dark Hunger by Sara Reinke

The Deepest Hunger. . .

Tessa Noble is a vampire who will do anything to reach the safety of her brother in New Orleans--even if it means traveling with her nemesis, Rene Morin. A ruthless, brooding, yet startlingly sexy vampire, Rene seems to take pleasure in finding fault with Tessa's every move. As they travel, Rene feeds along the way, while Tessa struggles to resist the impulse to nourish herself. . .

Feeds The Darkest Needs. . .

Once in the storm-ravaged city of his birth, Rene's defenses begin to unravel, and Tessa is drawn to his more vulnerable side. Starving and spent with need, Tessa finally allows herself to feed off of Rene's own body, deepening the sensual attraction they share. Yet neither can afford to succumb to this desire. For Tessa and Rene are being followed--and a single misstep will put them at the mercy of forces more dark and powerful than even they can fight. If they are caught, the ecstasy of their newfound love will be matched only by the agony of its loss. . .

Pregnant vampiress Tessa Davenant has had enough with the abuse and meanness of her spouse Martin five times her age and a zillion times anyone¿s cruelty. She leaves the Brethren Kentucky estate, a place she never left before, to travel to New Orleans to help her fraternal twin Brandon Noble convicted to die by the family elders. --- Half-breed vampiric outsider Rene Morin is her escort although his constant criticizing of her is disturbing especially since she is attracted to the former cop. He tries to hide his desires for her behind the façade of assuming she is a wealthy spoiled rich bitch. As they journey to still desolate post Katrina Louisiana, someone follows them with the intent of killing both of them and her brother and his human lover Lina, Rene¿s ex-police partner. --- This is a terrific vampire romantic suspense that sort of uses a patriarchal community similar in some ways to the Mennonites as the home base of the Brethren. The story line is action-paced from the onset as the lead couple is attracted tone another, but refuses to act on their desires. Although well written, some of the support characters' activities seem too obfuscate with implications that the reader should peruse the previous tale DARK THIRST for a better understanding. Still this is a fine paranormal romantic thriller due mostly to the prime duet. --- Harriet Klausner

I loved "dark thirst" and most of "dark hunger", this is my first attempt at a review -- as soon as I finished "dark thirst", I had to get "dark hunger" -- I love paranormal and these book are right up my alley once I started reading "dark hunger" it kept me reading for hours eventually I just fell asleep -- once I awoke I started reading until I was finished, I really hope the author Sara Reinke comes out with a third book though because unfortunately the ending of this one was very bad and if the third book fixes the ending of "dark hunger" with a great beginning and a brings about a good tear gerking end -- i am very much looking forward to book three and i hope there will be a book three
