Mary Nelson's murder shocked the small town of Jackson. The vibrant, young college student disappeared on her way home. A week later her body was found in the trunk of a burning car. No suspects. No evidence. No case.

Ella Reynolds' life had finally turned around. With a new book released, the past safely tucked away, and a burgeoning romance, she begins to live again. Then a plea from a woman whose daughter's murder remains unsolved ignites Ella's curiosity-and drags her back into the dark world she fought so desperately to escape.

Curiosity turns to obsession as Ella inches closer to the truth-and the murderer begins to claim new victims.

About the Author

Many authors claim to have known their calling from a young age. Liz Schulte, however, didn't always want to be an author. In fact, she had no clue. Liz wanted to be a veterinarian, then she wanted to be a lawyer, then she wanted to be a criminal profiler. In a valiant effort to keep from becoming Walter Mitty, Liz put pen to paper and began writing her first novel. It was at that moment she realized this is what she was meant to do. As a scribe she could be all of those things and so much more.
When Liz isn’t writing or on social networks she is inflicting movie quotes and trivia on people, reading, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. Liz is a Midwest girl through and through, though she would be perfectly happy never having to shovel her driveway again. She has a love for all things spooky, supernatural, and snarky. Her favorite authors range from Edgar Allen Poe to Joseph Heller to Jane Austen to Jim Butcher and everything in between.

Loved it! Another spine-tingling mystery from Liz Schulte with ghosts galore. Ella’s new more stable (after the horror) personality suits her. She’s endearing, humorous, and her relationship with Gabriel has settled in my heart. It’s truly an intriguing mystery that will keep you reading until the last page.

Death, plots, twists and turns, you never knew what was coming next. Elle has always had a way of finding trouble, but she finds it in spades in Dark Passing. Throw in a hot detective and some small town secrets, then mix it up with Elle’s nosing around and you never know what might happen next. I thought Dark Corners was great, but Dark Passing was FANTASTIC!

Loving this series but whoever proof read this needs another job.

The trend seems to be make a series last 10 or more books and don't even hint at a ending. Then there's the take a hard right turn into mental madness that literally had nothing to do with all the previous books. I love how I know you will end a series without cliffhangers and still keep the books going. You are by far one of my favorite authors. Thank you for putting your readers above the money you make from us!

Having just finished this, the second in the Ella Reynolds series, I must review them! They were both very quick and interesting books. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot twists and Ms. Schulte's style of writing. What has prompted this rant, however, is the lack of proofreading! Both books have glaring typos and unforgiveable grammatic errors. One sentence read: "He" and that was it! So much for the world of self-publishing. It is my hope that Ms. Schulte will be able to find a reputable publisher who will elevate her writing to her talent-worthy level.

I really enjoyed this book, and bought it after reading Dark Corners. This book has lots of twists and turns, a handsome detective for Ella and a touch of paranormal.
