As far as EMP survival stories go this one is poorly written, very simplistic, characters are flat and predictable, the dialogue is as ridiculous as are the survival situations. I'm still floored how a book so awful ever got published. I've read well over 100 end of the world books and this one places dead last. Save your time and money...this one gave me a headache. Jp

I enjoyed this book. I do wish it was longer. At 170 oages, it was a quick read. Well written and humurous in the right places.

The only reason I didn't give this a 1-Star rating is because the story has a modicum of merit. It should be no surprise to readers that the protagonist is headed to Idaho, the hotbed of right wing anti-government hysteria. The protagonist, Nathan, has some good information to pass on, but the political slant and hatred of ANYTHING government is just ridiculous. Bottom line, it is NOT okay to kill Homeland Security personnel or Policeman or Military personnel just because you want to get home at all costs. A disappointing read with a plausibly good story.
