About the Author

Homesteader by day and werewolf…ahem, *teller of werewolf tales*…by night, Aimee Easterling is a USA Today Bestselling author writing on the boundary between urban fantasy and paranormal romance.

She heats her house with hand-split firewood, writes on an ultra-geeky Linux box, and generally does her best to confuse all reasonable assumptions.

Studying biology and spending a year backpacking around the world have both informed Aimee’s writing, but she’s quite willing to let reality slide in favor of a good story. You can learn more and download a free starter library at www.aimeeeasterling.com.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this story, as it was so different than Wolfie and Terra's, but I was surprisingly pleased!

I started with Shiftless and after that I bought all in this series. Awesome to have actual stories, characters with development and depth , interplay, themes that are more than just sex and shredding (get boring after a while). Aimee Easterling shows thought and desire to make captivating reading.

This is a story of Hunter, a bloodling wolf who has learned to live without a pack. Joining the military and going into bomb disposal has helped Hunter be disciplined and to live in a all-human environment. Unfortunately he has become dissatisfied with the sameness of the day-to-day, and tired of restraining his wolf when visits to human establishments (bars!)bring continuous challenges to his alpha personality. When Stormwinder offers him a job outside the military, Hunter is reluctant to take it and give up his human "pack". A change in circumstance forces him to turn down a re-up offer for his unit and, with no other prospects, he contacts Stormwinder. He is offered a job as an enforcer for the wolf Tribunal. He sees this as a way to help settle disputes and allow his wolf an outlet for it's aggression. Find out how a pack princess changes Hunter's prospective and how he finds a whole new way to help werewolves, female ones. Hunter will show up again with a certain halfie you may have met before.

This is a story to go alongside the Alpha Underground books about Fen and gives great insight into Hunter both of whom featured in the original Wolf Rampant trilogy. My reading order was just right for me, which was more by luck than planning, with book 1 Half Wolf, then Dark Wolf Adrift, followed by Book 2 Lone Wolf Dawn and finished off with Book 3 Wolf Landing. As with all the books mentioned above there was a good sense of humour alongside a solid moral compass all accompanied by feisty but not overbearing females.

Finally! A shifter story that doesn't revolve around finding a mate!!! Yes, those are awesome but it sure is refreshing reading an entirely different storyline! Take one uber alpha and immerse him into the world of pack politics and you have got an action packed page turner you truly need to read! I love the über's sort of pack bond to his human buddies, and then following his struggles to find his place in the shifter world. Seriously love the little tease at the end! Perfect way to crave the next book! This voluntary review was written using an advance copy.

Spectacular shifter world! Hunter is a lone wolf in a special ops team that he considers pack. Hunter has not grown up with the same sense of pack and knowing all of the "rules". He only knows that he is as dominate as they come and a monster. This leads to all sorts of interesting situations for Hunter. Then there is the pack princess that makes him reassess things. Angelica "Blue-eyes" Stormwinder has more on her mind than just being a simple mate. She wants to take the world by its tail. Her power stands up to Hunter's and she's able to help him dance around the bureaucracy of the wolf society. Watching Hunter expand who he is and how he comes to think between himself as human and his wolf, was like a tango dance. There was a steady beat and bursts of thoughts as Hunter discovered the best ways to think and act. Coming up with out of the box solutions will be Hunter's niche, and should carry nicely into the next stories. This is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. While the story does not end in a cliff hanger, there is a tease for the next story. Well played for an ending!

I really enjoyed this novel. It is a fast paced tale about wolf shifters. The characters are well written with interesting traits. The plot seems straight forward, but has a few twists thrown in. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series
