Stephanie Rowe is one of the best paranormal authors around, hands down. This new series is a revelation that draws you into a world of a delightful mix of paranormal and reality. The characters Stephanie creates are a whole new breed of paranormal. Instead of reading about the same old vampires and werewolves, you read about Calydons and more. In this first book of the series, you meet Quinn and Grace, two people so similar, but with so much to overcome. Quinn is bound by duty, but Grace manages to get under all his defenses. In a world where meeting your soul mate is certain doom, Quinn and Grace have more to overcome than any couple in history. When you are reading, you connect with the characters and Stephanie's superb writing makes them come alive. And long after you are done reading, you find yourself thinking about the characters and their story. You will laugh out loud at moments and then in others, you will realize you are crying. Reading this series is not just reading stories, it is experiencing a whole new world that brings you back time and time again to share in the world and the people she has created. :) Trust me, you will not be sorry you embark on this wonderful journey, it is one you will never forget.

I am not an easy sell on paranormals and was leery to read this. But holy moly this was a great read. Stephanie Rowe has created a wonderful new series. Two thousand years ago Ezekiel and his twin brother Caleb lived with an abusive father. The King of the land was no better killing men and women just for the fun of it. Ezekiel fell in love with a girl who the King kidnapped. When Ezekiel couldn’t get to her at the King's castle it sent him over the edge. Ezekiel knew of a stream that would create mythical warriors. Ezekiel and Caleb drank from the steam and then went and defeated the King. But Evangeline died in Ezekiel arms. This caused Ezekiel to go mad and kill everyone in the kingdom including women and children. From this Ezekiel created a band of warriors called The Order that was to rid the world of evil. But Ezekiel in his madness became paranoid- began seeing evil in everything. Caleb decided his brother needed to be stopped and set out with his wife who he hoped would keep him from going rogue and 20 men to drink from the stream to create an army to defeat Ezekiel. Caleb and his army did defeat Ezekiel but at the expense of Caleb's wife. Caleb managed to imprison Ezekiel in a magical prison but he went crazy over the loss of his wife and his men had to kill him. Thus the legacy was born. The Calydon warriors’ purpose was the keep the world safe from evil and when needed to kill a Calydon warrior and/or his sheva (mate) when the Calydon warrior went rogue/mad after finding her. Dante has been the leader of the Order for 700 years but with his death Quinn Masters is next in line. After a disastrous mission that left all of his young Calydon warriors in training dead and it looking like his best friend Elijah did it, Quinn knows he must figure out what is going on. After waking up from almost dying he heads to his cabin where Grace Matthews is waiting and he knows right away she is his sheva. Grace Matthews is an illusionist. One who can call upon images to make those around her believe what she is projecting. Her sister is also one and has been kidnapped and Grace has come to Quinn for his help in finding her. They both realize there is a connection between them but Grace refuses to believe that love can make a person go mad to a point of no return. All she wants is to get her sister back. As the story progresses we find out how and why Dante and Elijah died and that the walls that are keeping Ezekiel in are crumbling and he seems to be controlling people on the outside. One of the men he is controlling is the one that took Grace's sister Ana. They also come across Dante's son Drew who they know they need to protect at all cost. This was a great start to a new series. I am already all wrapped up in this world and can’t wait until Gideon and Lily's story which is next. I am hoping that Ana's story is the 3rd book.

Darkness awakened is the first in the primal heat trilogy by Stephanie Rowe. It has been a long time since a paranormal book held my attention, but this one did so much so I couldn't put it down. Clayden Quinn Masters is on a quest for his immortal brother when his life collides with that of Illusionist Grace Mathews, whom is on a quest of her own that of finding her sister. The sex scenes in the book totally blew me away extremely hot and sensual. I can not wait to read the other two books in the trilogy. Stephanie Rowes book is a must for all paranormal and none paranormal fans.

How many times can I say I love Stephanie Rowe's writing? I guess that depends on just how many books she can write! DARKNESS AWAKENED has it all. A great, ORIGINAL paranormal aspect (I love that Rowe creates her own world instead of the usual vampires, werewolves, fairies, etc), wonderfully rich characters, conflict, sexual tension, and of course the happily ever after. I can't wait for the next installment in the series.

Quinn Masters is one tough son-of–a-gun, but his world just came crashing down around him. All his trainees are dead, one of his weapons is missing, he almost died and it looks like one of his closest teammates may be responsible for it. But just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse his sheva (mate) shows up. This has to be one of the worst days of his life. But Quinn never backs down from a challenge and no one is going to stand in his way of finding his teammate, not even his mate. Grace will not stop until she has found her sister. She is willing to do anything, even take on one of the most dangerous Calydon warriors, Quinn Masters. But he may just be her last hope. What Grace finds in Quinn will far surpass anything she could have ever imagined. But first they will have to survive Quinn’s teammates, finding her sister, the mating and each other. I have to say a huge thank you to Stephanie Rowe for allowing me to read her book. This was a great 1st book in Stephanie Rowe’s new series: The Order of the Blade. I enjoyed the world that Stephanie created with the Calydon Warriors. The Warriors are all a rough, tough, and take their jobs very, very serious. But it takes one small woman to break through their tough outer shells to make them realize that you can change destiny. I really loved Quinn & Grace. They are such a fun couple. They love, they fight, and ultimately have a chance to change their world. I am very much looking forward to the next two books in this series Darkness Seduced (April 15, 2012) and Darkness Surrendered (May 15, 2012).

Another awesome book from Stephanie Rowe. A paranormal romance with some fighting and soul mate meeting. Quinn Masters is a Calydon. Calydon's tend to go rogue when they meet their soul mate. In walks Grace Matthews into Quinn's life... She needs his help to find her sister. He needs her help to find out why his brother Calydon's are dying and killing off each other. Quinn and Grace come to the shocking conclusion that they are soul mates. They are both determined to break the curse. Quinn must make the other Calydons see that he is not going rogue and that Grace will help them find out what is going on with the missing Calydons. Twists, turns, illusions, hot men and hot sex... What more can anyone want?

Read this first book in the series! Enjoyed it so much I couldn't wait to jump into this group of immortal warriors and read their stories. I was hooked with the first book and I am on the 5th. Haven't been disappointed yet. If you love badass warriors, you will love the series. Rowe has done a superb job in creating this cast and crew.

This one of the best books I've read this year. To say that I totally fell in lover with Quinn Masters and Grace Matthews would be a huge understatement. This book has strong characters on an exciting journey filled with fast past action, sexual tension and wonderful witty tongue-in-cheek dialogue. It's been awhile since a book has been able to keep me so captivated, I couldnt put it down!!

This book was an enjoyable read. There were several battle scenes that were very well done, and the romance was very sweet (in a dark way, but very sweet regardless). If this book is anything to judge the series by, I'd warn that it is extremely drama filled and definitely dark. All of the characters are pretty scarred, but they also make you want to know them.

Really good story

This story was intense at times, action-packed, emotionally gripping, and entertaining. I enjoyed the story a lot. Some of the passion scenes did take place at odd, and I would think awkward, times but other than that I enjoyed it immensely.  Ana is on the hunt for her sister who has been missing and is blamed for several murders she knows she didn't commit.  Her last hope is the Calydon Quinn. He doesn't have time for Ana, especially as he realizes the moment he sees her that she is his destined mate. Their adventure was enjoyable and steady and I liked the plot and conflict. I enjoyed the concept that having a mate wasn't a good thing; that if a Calydon gave into his drive to bond with his mate he went rogue and became a dangerous monster. Quinn and Ana had to prove that myth wrong in order to open the door to the other Calydons finding their mates in the following books. I look forward to reading more about the Calydons and their destined mates.

WOW! The last time a series grabbed me like this, with the very first book, was My Familiar Stranger of The Order of the Black Swan - Paranormal Romance Series by Victoria Danann. This book enters you into the world of the Calydons and Illusionists and goodness knows what else and I don't want to leave. The men are hot and alpha to the core. The women are sassy and not afraid to stand up for themselves or to fight for who or what they care about. This book gripped me from the very start and I have already ordered the next in the series and put the rest on my wishlist! Keepers, for sure. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED. * Verified Purchase ~ January 2013 * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

I can't believe a woman wrote this: -women are responsible for curse, men happy until sheva shows up -woman can't perform unless beaten -threat of rape to motivate woman I tried to get to the end, but I'm too disgusted and want to go wash out my eyes.

What an addictive read! Of all the books I've read this Summer, this has to be the one most difficult to put down. It is a full length novel. It has an ending to this part of a greater series. I mean, a person can read it and be satisfied with the ending. However, there is motivation to continue the journey set up by this novel, by going on to the next book. There are so many possibilities for the directions this epic story could travel. The characters introduced in this book have such unique, individual and compelling personalities that I want to find out what their histories are and what the author has in store for them. The two main characters in this story are admirable. They are strong and revel in the fact that they love that about each other. No wimpy, simpering woman in this book! Yet, the couple truly embrace what it is to be a man, or to be a woman. It is difficult to say enough about how rewarding this book was to read without writing my own short story about it! If you enjoy books that suspend your belief in what we know as the "real world," and accept the paranormal aspects offered here, you are in for a treat! I was given a real gift by Stephanie Rowe offering this ebook for free, through the Barns & Noble website. She must have the confidence that her writing would inspire the reader to buy the next books in this series. I know I will.
