Darkness Surrendered (Order of the Blade) by Stephanie Rowe

"Rowe is a paranormal star!" ~J.R. Ward

Six hundred years ago, Elijah Ross was tortured into insanity and thrust into a mental hell that no living creature has ever survived...except him. Now, that ancient evil is back, and it is far more deadly. Elijah is all that stands between it and the destruction of all of humanity, but each step he takes drags him ruthlessly back into the nightmare that once consumed him. Elijah's only chance is Ana Matthews, whose sensual kisses and passionate fire thrust hope and light into his blackened heart and fragmented mind. But Ana's deadly past could be the final trigger for Elijah's descent into irretrievable madness and the destruction of his soul, humanity and what is left of his heart.

I think this will be the last book in this series for me. It's just a bit too over the top for my tastes. The whole losing your mind because you find your insta-love mate (and I'm not anti-insta-love in paranormal romance) just too much. It fits the lore perfectly, it's just not my kind of lore. The overall story arc is what has brought me back so far. The Calydons and their fight against evil, which includes those that have found their mate, have a fascinating culture and their search for Elijah was very intense. But there's no common sense. As Calydon after Calydon find their mate, it's the same thing over and over. We must kill the woman! Even though they now know that it isn't necessary. The illusions are quite confusing. I think maybe they were supposed to be, but there were several times I wasn't sure if things had really happened when I was supposed to. Just not my cuppa.

I really liked the first two books in this series. This one wasnt as good as the first two. It kind of dragged and i caught myself skimming through a lot of it. I probably wont be reading any more in this series.

I was so happy to see Ana being treasured. She deserves some happiness and love. So far all the Order warriors are finding their true mate.

I truly love a lost soul, and this is that book. It totally sucks you in and the true depth of despair that is felt by these two. To feel so lost, so alone and so helpless it is amazing that anyone can survive, but survive you must! This is an amazing book and so far my favorite!!!

WOWZA!!!!!! This book was like a rolling stone down a very steep cliff, it keeps gaining speed until you finally think you hit rock bottom when fates steps in and stops you dead in your tracks. Darkness Surrendered picks up where we left off in Darkness Seduced with Elijah still lost under a pile of rubble and his sheva and The Order trying to find him. This was a gripping way to end the original trilogy of The Order of the Blade. The whole time I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know Stephanie was going to make everything okay between Elijah & Ana. And let me tell you she put me through the emotional ringer with these two. Just when I think it can’t get any worse it does. Let me tell you how much I hate an author that is good at writing the bad guys. When a bad guys is written good you almost want to root for him. So my only fault with this book is that I think Ezekiel gets off way too easy. You will know what I mean when you read the book. I was a little pisses at the events at the very end of the book, but like every good author Stephanie gave me a happily ever after, well that is until sheva destiny comes back for them. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. Thank you Stephanie for the optionity to read and review your book. :)
