About the Author

After 35 years of doing everything for a living except writing books, Donna McDonald finally published her first romance novel in March of 2011. Ten novels later, she is now living her own "happily ever after" life as a modestly successful author who gives back to the universe by doing her best to keep several Lexington, Kentucky coffee shops in business. McDonald dreams of selling her house and taking to the open road once she figures out how to do so without her children and grandchildren finding out. For the time being, she continues to live contentedly with her permanent fiancée of many years who helps her sneak away from real life as often as he can. She loves him dearly for it.

I love all the books in this series and the previous one (it began with "Carved in Stone"). I love the couples: Alexa and Casey; Regina and Ben; and now Lauren and Jim. Each book gets better. Thank you, Donna, for showing that mature couples can have fun, too! skw

I LOVED the characters in this book ... I respect them, they're witty, humorous and completely human.  I'm so weary of characters(especially female) that whiny children who behave like victims. Bravo Ms. McDonald for being able to capture fun, vivacious, audacious, completely full of themselves (in a good way) women. I would love to be a part of their 'tribe'!

I am reading the entire Never Too Late Series and am thoroughly enjoying each one. The character development in each one pushed me to read the next. Even though I'm reviewing the 3rd book, I currently reading the 4th in the series. I can't wait to see how Ms. McDonald bring the hero and heroine together. These are the first books I've read by this author and am enjoying them. Ms. McDonald is entertaining. I've laughed at the mature group of women and felt extremely for the young characters because they haven't learned what life lessons are important. I recommend others take time to read this author, I think you will find her as entertaining as I do.

I would read read this series over and over. Each book is so funny. I have turned two others onto these series. Lauren the main character has to change the way she looks at life in order to over come the past and except the future. Jim is the perfect person for lauren and how he has to change to make the future he wants.

I liked Lauren so much more in this book then the 1st 2. But Jim.... I kept thinking Man Up already. Gheeze... No1 likes a weak hero. And saying mean hurtful things does not make you an alpha, just a jerk. Jim crossed far too many lines for Lauren to keep forgiving him. Also, Lydia was such a horrible mother and person in general. The pressure to have Lauren go back to her 4ever cheating ex, not defending her ti the country club councel plus the verbal & emotional abuse gives me no desire to read her book. This book was longer then it should have been to the point of boring. However,, Best part of the book was Casey, Alexa, Ben & Regina. Casey & Ben were hilarious.

This is a good read if you know the series. It didn't knock my socks off but it feels you in on the other couples in the earlier books.
