Eliza shivered pulling her jacket it tighter around her. Right now she was in Florida which ment it was about ninty degrees out, but not to her. To her she always cold, but such was her curse. She knew little about herself, only what the book told her. Frankly Eliza didnt even know if she could trust the book. She was standing on a hotel balcony looking out over the sea. A seagull dived past her angled out towards the surf. Scanning her surrondings to see if she was alone she pulled the balcony chair out of the corner it was resting in. She turned and walked back into her room and grabbed her shoulder bag before walking back out. She settled into the chair and took a deep breath. Out from the bag she pulled a leather bound notebook and a rectangular wooden box. She opened the book to its first page which was blank, then she opened the box. Inside, resting on a bed of frost, was a pen shaped out of ice. Taking another deep breath to steel her nerves she put the pen to the paper and wrote: Tell me the story. No trace of marking appeared at all on the page even though theyd been written. The cold wind swirling around calmed as words began to apear.
If you wish to know I shall tell. The story starts many years ago with a women and a man. The womens father protected his daughter in every way possible because they were different than others. He forbid her to fall in love, as to not have her heart broken. Yet the women met a man and the goddess of love smiled apon them. Soon the women and the man feel deeply in love. Against her fathers wish she kept her love away from he so he wouldnt find out. The women and the man began seeing each other and as their love grew so did their need to see each other. Now the man knew nothing of the womens differences, only that his love for her was deep. He decided to take her for a dinner one night. While the goddes of love still smiled apon them the fates did not. The unkind fates led the womens father to their date. The father filled with anger when he found his daughter decived him. Blind rage consumed him and he forced them apart. To insure his daughter could never see the man again the father killed him but dont before he decreaed a curse. Those of this mans kin must now live with the cold wind, a reminder of his wrongs they will live with deadly cold. Many terrible things happened in the fathers rage. Love took pity on the woman and blessed her with daughter. The daughter was of ice, wind, and mortality. The mother took her as far away as she could in fear of her fathers rath.
Eliza read the end of the story and the blue ink the words were written in dissapeared. She looked out across the water needing to be reminded she was in a warm place. Next with the ice pen she wrote a smiple sentence. What does this have to do with me
Words began to take form. Dearest Zia, this is your story. This is who you are.
The chilling wind returned as more words formed. Your blood is different, the blood of two imortals and a mortal.
She felt a chill in her bones but began to write a question shed written a hundred times before. Who are you?
Your mother Elizia. I am Khione and you are my daughter.
She sat for the longest time taking in all this knew infromation. She put in it place with what she did know. Yes, she was a halfblood. Yes, she was cursed with cold and ice. And so it was true. After all theses years of searching she finally knww who she was.
••Ana

Hey y'all!!!! Nice to meet you whats your name???? Mines alihira (alee-hear-a) newmanson daughter of zeus. Thats right i said zeus the king of greek gods. and to make matters more complicated my moms aphrodite. Yup goddess of love and beauty. But wouldnt that make me a godess??? It would exept for one teeny detail. thats about to change my life. I woke up and looked at the clock. Yikes 715 i was supposed to be awake 15 minutes ago. I decide i dont have time to take a shower today. After trying on many outfits i finally decide on a jean mini skirt high heels a fitted pale pink top and to top it off heart shaped dangle earrings. Will my dad have a fit??? probably. But that was the point. I grab my backback and 20 bucks and im out the door. I hop into my baby blue volvo and drive to school. Im listening to boring book reports when i hear mrs. Renaulds call me i go up to her and she tells me principle manoosh wants to see me. I make my way to the office my high heels tapping on the floor. When i get there Principle manoosh hisses at me "finally what took you so long" 'i-im sorry" i said "i wont be late again." "Im not talking about that" she says "come with me" she drags me into the parking lot and snaps her fingers sddenly everything went dark. When i woke up i saw a man in a wheelchair loooking at me. "Hello" he said ina pleasant voice. I got the feeling he was about to say more but then a blond haired girl came rushing into the room. "Chiron. Chiron!!" She sobbed "what is it annabeth??" He asked. "Its percy!!! We went out in the woods together and a hydra appeared and neither og f us had our weapons and and." She gulped "it got percy" "what do you meand it got percy?" "It took him and ran off ill tell you more at the campfire" "chiron? Is that your name?" I aske my head spinning " where am i ?" " it might be better to ask who are you. You are a halfblood. Half god half human." He said to my unasked question. "Whos my godly parent"? i asked "we dont know" he said "hopefully theyll claim you at the campfire." Later at the campfire i was sitting with the hermes cabin toasting a marshmellow when suddenly everyone gasped they were all staring at me. I whipped out my compact mirror to see if i had something stuck in my teeth but instead i saw 2 glowing symbols above my head one was a lightning bolt. The other a dove. " hail lady alihira faughter of zeus and aphrodite." The other kids starting asking questions the most commonly asked one was "is she a goddess" i looked to chiron for help. ""This has not happened in a millenia he said gather round while i tell a story. One day a long time ago zeus was taking a walk. He bumped into aphrodite. who even though he was married he secretly was in love with he asked her out and for a short period of time they were married. But then hera found out and cursed all the children zeus and aphrodite had had to be demigods. Zeus and aphrodite then broke up and said they didnt like each other anymore. But i think they have gotten together a few more times and my dear alihira your the result. And like the rest of there children. Hera cursed you to be a demigod." Annabeth stood up and said suddenly. "Percys missing" everyone gasped. But as they got over there surprise they started chanting "we need a quest. We need a quest." "Very well" said chiron. "I think its pretty obvious who should lead this quest. Alihira daughter of zeus and aphrodite." Hope you liked my story!!! By Ruby Spring

(Written by AmJam, Percy POV) I take a deep breath. I check my reflection in the window and straighten the bowtie. Fingering the heart-shaped box of chocolates and keeping my death grip on the bunch of roses, I exhale and tell myself I can do this. Five thirty sharp, I'll be there, I had said. I knock on the cabin door. Annabeth had said she'd be the only one there. She opens the door. "Percy," she says. "Annabeth," I say. "You look... dazzling." And she does. Her short sleeved, silver dress with matching flats looks amazing on her. I notice the small, owl-shaped earrings she's wearing. Annabeth hardly ever wears jewelry. The earrings look nice. "Thanks," she says. "Happy Valentine's Day, Annabeth," I say, and hand her the chocolates and roses. When she accepts them, I offer my arm out to her. She giggles and links her arm with mine. I had planned to take her down to the shoreline. When we get there, Annabeth says, "Percy, it's beautiful." I know what she means. The sunset. We sit down on the warm sand. Annabeth turns to the card I had taped on top of the chocolates and pulls it off, then opens it. "Be my valentine, Wise Girl?" Annabeth reads aloud. She turns to me. "What do you think, Seaweed Brain?" "I think... yes," I say, then lean in for the kiss. The moment is so perfect, so precise. I wish I could freeze-frame this moment forever. When we pull apart, Annabeth says, "You guessed correctly." "How many times have I said I love you, Annabeth?" I ask her. "About a million," she says. "Then let this one mean the most," I say. "I love you, Annabeth." "Love you too, Seaweed Brain."

I've been reading the sample and loving it until i got to day three. I'm 37 and the Lord has not yet provided me with a husband. This has been a great struggle for me in my relationship with Him. How can beth moore be so insensitive to think that everyone reading her book is a married woman?
