About the Author

Karen Gillenwater is museum manager for 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. She has sixteen years' experience as a curator and museum educator and holds a MA in art history with a concentration in museum studies fro University of Denver and a BA in art history from the University of Evansville.

John Seed is a professor of art and art history at Mt. San Facinto College in Southern California, as well as a painter, a curator and an arts journalist. He has written about art and artists for Harvard Magazine, Arts Ltd., Arts of Asia, Hyperallergic and Huffington Post.
