Dawn is the third book in The Dire Wolves Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I was so sad to see this trilogy come to an end. I grew very attached to these wolves. I'm hoping for another spin off, because I think some of the characters have more story in them. We're given the perspectives of Mary Anne, Hunter, Gage, and someone new, Michelle. I don't remember her from any of the other books that take place within this world, but I liked her a lot. She was sassy, spunky, and smart. Gage is coming into his own now, and I think he's beginning to embrace his wolfy side. Hunter is still Hunter, serious and broody (I'm still Team Hunter by the way), but I think I saw a lighter side to him a few times within Dawn, and it made me like him more. I enjoyed this story. If you a fan of this author like you should be, this trilogy is a must read. The ARC of Dawn by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.
Actual Rating: 4.5 Stars I’m afraid of how you make me feel. Of how out of control we get when we’re together, but that has nothing to do with you being a Dire. That crazy feeling was there before you changed.” There are no words to describe how excited I was to pick up this book. Ever since I finished Dusk, I have been waiting in anticipation to get my hands on Dawn. And let me tell you, Dawn was worth the wait! Dawn picks up right where Dusk left off. Mary Anne and Gage are on the run. However, they can’t just run off and start a new life. No, they have to somehow find a way to break Hunter out of prison so that he can finish changing Gage. Fresh out of options, they have no choice, but to reach out to Mary Anne’s friend Genevieve. Along with her and Denny’s help, they will try to make the impossible happen…..Hunter is determined to end the hunt, no matter what the cost. He doesn’t know who to trust, but in the end, the answer will come from a very unlikely source…. Dawn was such an exciting read. It was fast paced and told from multiple points of view. Normally, I only like to read two points of view. More than two can get tricky and as a reader, I start to get overwhelmed. However, in this case, the multiple points of view really worked well and added so much to the story. Writing a spoiler free review for a book you really enjoyed is so hard!!! I just want to gush in excitement! But, I’m not going to spoil this for you. Nope. But, I will tell you this: I loved Dawn. I loved everything about this book. It had mystery and suspense, angst and romance, betrayal and help from unexpected places. The main characters; I felt so connected to Mary Anne and Gage. The two of them together are a force to be reckoned with and they love they share is so strong, so real. I enjoyed getting lost in the world that Alyssa Rose Ivy has created. Every time that I think I couldn’t possibly love a character or paranormal creature more, she has to go and prove me wrong. She gives me characters that are easy to relate to, to connect with and then interweaves their stories together, so that I never really have to say goodbye to my favorite characters. Dawn was the perfect ending to the Dire Wolves series. I devoured this book in one sitting. I literally finished it in about 3 hours! It was that good! I could not put it down. I was captivated and intrigued from start to finish. Even though Mary Anne and Gage’s story is over, I am hopeful that this won’t be the last that we see of them. Alyssa Ivy Rose has really opened my eyes to the paranormal scene and I can not wait to see what journey she will take me on next! *I was provided an ARC copy of this book, via InkSlinger PR, in exchange for an honest review*
