The Lightbearers are a group of magical beings who have lived for five hundred years hidden away in their magically protected coterie. Now that the princess of the Lightbearers is mated to a shifter, their peaceful lives have been turned upside down.
In this second installment of the Lightbearer Series, shifter Finnegan Hennigan is doing his damnedest to keep Lightbearer Cecilia Druthers out of trouble. His job is made all the more difficult by the fact that Cecilia doesn't want to stay out of trouble.
Despite their mutual annoyance, sparks ignite between this odd couple. As it becomes increasingly more apparent that someone is out to get Cecilia, the flares of attraction become impossible to resist, and soon, Cecilia and Finn tumble into, well, a closet together. And then the bed. And if Finn wants to keep her there, he's going to need to keep her alive.
Which means figuring out who the hell keeps trying to kill her.

Dawning of Light (Moonfate Series Book 2) by Tami Lund FIVE STAR FUN!!! What a unique concept. Lightbearers are magical beings that replenish their magic from sunlight. They have been hidden away for over five hundred years, never seen, but the myths still survive. The Lightbearers have hidden away for five hundred years. They hid from the Fae who created them and the Shifters who want their magic. Now that the Lightbearer Princess Olivia has mated with Tanner Lyons their peaceful life has been turned upside down. Dawning of Light Book 2 in the series picks up where Into the Light ends. Princess Olivia is carrying the heir to the Lightbearer throne and her cousin and best friend Cecilia Druthers keeps getting into trouble. Tanner assigns Finnegan to keep Cecilia out of trouble but sparks fly between this “odd couple.” Finnegan Hennigan tries to keep Cecilia out of trouble but he has definitely met his match. Though they disagree on just about everything there is no avoiding their strong attraction to each other. When this attraction can no longer be denied they fall into a convenient closet and then the bed. Very Hot indeed! Someone is trying to kill Cecilia and Finn is doing everything in his power to keep her alive. But who would want to kill Cici? I love this series so much. Tami Lund has created a new supernatural creature with the Lightbearers. Just when I thought I had the story all figured out, the twists and turns of the plot kept me reading late into the night. The story has adventure, suspense, non-sexual violence and HOT sexual situations. There will be a Book 3 and it will continue the Lightbearer story. I can hardly wait.
Wowza! I am so in love with this series. Tami Lund has brilliantly continued her magical journey in Dawning of Light, the second book in the Lightbearer Series. Lund demonstrates amazing talent and an astounding imagination in this novel. The story is original, imaginative, perceptive, well written, romantic, sexy, thrilling and action packed. The dialog is exciting, smart, sassy and flows beautifully. The characters are well developed, fascinating and intriguing. The story captures your imagination while enveloping you in a web of magic and fantasy. The characters jump off the page and capture your heart. Such an interesting and totally different take on a paranormal/shifter/magical beings story! I was totally captivated! It certainly would help to read Into the Light, Book One of the Lightbearer Series but not mandatory in order to enjoy this story. Lund does a superb job of referencing parts of her back story from Book One. In this book, handsome shifter, Finnegan "Finn" Hinnigan. has killed the heinous Quentin Lyons and has pledged his allegiance to his son, Tanner, and has now become a member of Tanner's new somewhat small ragtag pack now living in the Coterie. Finn is undecided and unsure of the dangerous and uneasy alliance with the Lightbearers. After all, Shifters and Lightbearers are mortal enemies and have been for all time. So when his alpha, Tanner, tasks him with guarding beautiful Lightbearer, Cecila "Cici" Druthers, he is beyond upset. "Cecilia duty" for the rebellious, stubborn and troublesome Cecilia is the very last thing he wants to do. After all, he has already saved her life twice. He simply can't stand to be around her and he certainly doesn't like her. Or does he? What? Why does she affect him so? What in the heck is wrong with him? They are mortal enemies! So when it seems that the Lightbearers have a traitor in their midst and someone is trying to kill Cecilia, Finn is determined to protect her even if it means protecting her from her own family. What? It's just his job! What else could it be? Sparks fly! Opposites attract! The planets align and love blooms! Oh my! And what beautiful sparks they are! And Finn soon learns that he can't fight fate! So exciting! So compelling! So romantic! So dreamy! So good! Sigh.........I can hardly wait for the next book in The Lightbearer Series.
OMG I love this series! It has a different spin on shifters and we were introduced to a new magic population (a sort of spin off of the fae) the Lightbearers. The shifters are similar to what you would expect considering the shifters stories out but Ms Lund's shifters can turn into any creature they choose. There is one incident on the lake where Cecilia is in danger of drowning and Finn turns into a dolphin to get her safely to the shore then he undresses them both so he can share his body heat to keep her from severe hypothermia. It is so cool! Of course they're hot; hunky men and the women are beautiful. They and the Lightbearers are supposed to be mortal enemies (much of this was explained in depth in the first book) but Finn and Cecilia are the second set of mixed marriages/matings. This book is their story and OMG, what a story. It's difficult to give a brief synopsis because it has so many nuances that I don't think I can do it justice but briefly...Since they first met Cecilia and Finn have had an electric attraction between them. Magic sparks every time they touch but Finn thinks he is irritated by Cecilia and her actions. She is always slipping out of the hidden world the Lightbearers have always lived in (called the Coterie) and tends to find trouble outside in the world. Finn has been assigned to watch out for her and prevent her from leaving. She leads him a merry chase and he has to save her multiple times until he figures out that someone is actually trying to kill her. The attempts on her life are varied and the situations spellbinding - I just couldn't put it down. It is full of action packed adventures and lots of situations where the two are tempted to either fall into bed together or possibly kill each other. In addition to all the angst between the main characters there are plots against the King, the pack master (Tanner) & his mate the princess (Olivia). It becomes clear that there is an anti-shifter faction trying to kill Cecilia and anybody who is friendly to the shifters. There is a point at which Finn feels the need to get away and think as he is confused by his feelings for Cecilia and is determined that he doesn't want a mate. He leaves and goes to see his family in Tennessee. When Cecilia discovers he is gone she panics (although she refuses to admit why she feels this way) and decides she has to follow him to make sure he will come back. She shows up with a body guard (Dane) and meets Finn's family. When there is an incident where Samuel (a Lightbearer who insists he wants to mate Cecilia and has been pursuing her relentlessly) shows up in Tennessee and that sets off an anti-Lightbearer situation. Finn decides it isn't safe for Cecilia to return with just Dane so he says goodbye to his family and returns to the Coterie with Cecilia and Dane. The story really takes off after they return. These are just a few brief highlights, this story is so well written the author actually has several storylines going on all at the same time and they all work seamlessly together. There is eventually a happy ending but the journey there is a wonderful read. I promise you will enjoy this book. I sincerely hope there is a book three in the not too distant future.
