I rarely read fantasy, and if I do, I read the bestsellers. Came across this indie published book and for the price I decided to try it out. First off, I must say Mr. Rathbone has quite the mind. He must be a smart man. My complaints are I was lost at times. A bit too many characters and some slow moving parts. I'll admit, I skimmed from time to time. However, the book was well-written, though it could use a professional editor. Not to sound negative, though, because I did enjoy this book. I think a professional critique and edit would have gone a long way. Mr. Rathobone indeed has talent, and fantasy fans would surely enjoy this book. I've already suggested this to a few friends and I'll read more of his work. Keep up the effort Mr. Rathobone, I suspect you'll have a promising career.

This is an awesome read and i think everyone should read this book. Its about a girl named catrin that just discovered that she is the herald of istra. This means that she controls the wheather and land. The zijon soldiers read from a profecy that the herald of istra is going to overtake there country. So the zijon set out to destroy her. They sailed to the godfist which is her island and took over. But catrin got away on friendly pirate ship. Then she decided to pick up her courage and go back to destroy the zijon armys. She throws everything shes got at them including lightning bolts at them and she destroys the armys. Like i sad this is a great book and it is 568 pages long. Its also not that expensive and its worth every penny.

I was impressed by the length, the magnitude. Good story, though sometimes it got confusing and a bit slow, all i all this was a great read. I will continue my support for this author. A well crafted book that will please fantasy fans.

I really enjoyed this story. I especially identified with a lot of the spiritual ideas. I have to agree with another reviewer that said there were parts that were a little slow and hard to follow, but I am glad I read it all. Four stars and I will look for more by this author.
