This is a touching book. Covering most of the period of the soviet rule in central Asia, the story covers the grief, hardships, joy and love in the life of one person and family. The book is written in a very sensitive manner, hinting and invoking the reader's intellect and imagination. The cultural background of the people serves as a vast canavs for this epic novel.
