Good short zombie story about 26pgs. Mr. Young does a great job showing what people are facing when zombies have now taken over. This is a good solid story, he has some others that are much better. This story is sorta like just a basic overview of what people are going thru.

I felt that this short story was lacking in character description. It fell short of good. This vignette did not have the literary punch or emotional talons to grab me and reel me in. I have enjoyed other episodes, but this felt two dimensional. I know that these are "snapshots" of peoples lives, but there is no emotional or mental investment. I have kids, but still I could not get into it. It seemed like the kid did not care what happened to him either. This section is the weak link in the series, in my opinion. -AvidReader

Most of these Cities of the Dead stories show some okay to good writing but the stories don't go anywhere and so I did not experience any satisfaction when I was reading them. I might be tempted to read something from this author that was a complete book.

Short Reads But Very Good This is a series of 15 short stories (I believe the longest story had 44 pages) about different people and how they are experiencing the zombie apocalypse. I had to go onto the authors website to find out the order of the books, it does not go by the number of days, listed in the titles. The stories give you snippets into people's lives. They do not read like a novel and are not written like a novel. All in all I think the author did a good job. The stories were fun and very quick reads. I read all the books in two days. I would read more by this author.

Pretty good I guess. Wish it told a story instead of just parts of one.

Not bad for being from a teenagers POV, but I feel like him being abandoned by his family should have caused more emotional turmoil for him. But then again, it IS the zombie apocalypse so who knows how one would really react to that. Looking forward to #3.
