DayShell is the debut album by the band of the same name, created by Shayley Bourget, frontman, guitarist, and songwriter, after leaving alt-metal wunderkinds Of Mice & Men. The set's 11 tracks bear an indelible, hook-laden signature -- one of the best aspects of the material by his previous band. His song structures are often syncopated with syncopated cadenzas and catchy, emotive choruses. While most of the material focuses on the melodic with clean vocals, there are a couple of exceptions, including "Edge of the World" and "I Owe You Nothing," both of which showcase his rather surprising command of screaming vocals. There are also some acoustic undercurrents evidenced by "A Waste of Space.,"
