True page turner. The Whistler is one scary guy, but for that, he's one of the good guys. The characters are well written, including all their frailties and strengths. You can almost smell all the grossest aspects of subterranean London. Got the chills.

Finished in a couple of days. Good story line, a couple surprising twists in the end.

The characters were unique and had wonderful voices. The settings are interesting and the plot intriguing. There aren't really cliffhangers, but the encouragement to continue reading the series worked on me!

Ok book. Way too many typos and slang that is apparently specific to London. Overall not a bad read, but nothing to brag about.

It's a little slow to start but the story is laid out well. The characters are well developed and once it gets going it's really good.

Ghosts, psychics, time travel, love, sacrifice, and London! A very human hero. The author told an intriguing tale, and I did not see the plot twists coming. The ending was wrapped up neatly, but room was left for additional adventures. I enjoyed the supporting characters, such as Hatti and Egbert, and look forward to the next book.

(Despite the trite overview in the nook book store) I read this based on a recommendation - if you like Rivers of London you'll like this. And hey, it's a freebie. Sorry T.J., but I did not expect competent writing - the flood of self published books has really lowered my expectations of late. Good news - I really enjoyed the tale and am about to buy books 2 and 3. Deduct one star because (as with most self publishing) it could really use a good going over by an experienced editor to clean up mechanical problems.
