Dead End by Barry Friedman

Dead End
They found Henry Gibson shot dead in his abandoned car on a dirt road. DEAD END.
Then George Horner…and Noah Hamberger. Wait a minute…who’s depleting the population of Northeastern Ohio? Are these random murders or a sicko with an agenda? DEAD END.
That was the problem facing homicide detective Al Maharos. He ran out of ideas. DEAD END.
Maharos had never worked with a woman partner until Karen Vandergrift. Attractive, brilliant Vandergrift. Together, they uncovered other bodies, and a pattern unique in the annals of crime. The problem: who was linked to the murders? DEAD END.
They knew their path would converge with that of the killer. They knew when…But where? DEAD END.
DEAD END. A rapid-paced police procedural that grabs and won’t let go.

First a peeve, the person reviewing a lot of free books and saying quot all the time needs to learn how to spell. It is quote not quot. Also there is a space bar, learn how to hit it, thirdly, a lot of the punctuation you use is senseless and last but not least, don't you ever like a book? I have never seen a positive book review from you, and your reviews are quite easy to identify because of your inane style. This was not the best book I have ever read, but it has so many good qualities, it was hard to rate it. The characters were extremely likeable and true to life. Some of the situations, not so much. But it was interesting and had some unexpected twists and turns. The plot at times predictable, yet also had a few surprizes. A bit of romance and humor added in for good measure made this an entertaining read. As this author becomes more experienced, the books created will be outstanding reads.

Dead End :: I loved the way the two main detectives (or detective and sheriff) start pulling at the tiny leads untill they manage to unravel the whole thing! Very well written and keeps you on your toes untill you finally get there .... This has intrigue, romance, action and a healthy dose of a serial killer! Enjoyed the read! Thank you...

Liked the plot and development of story line Characters are realistic and the personal action with the professional makes a good read

Multiple voice story with the detective and the killer each having a part to play. The motive for the killing is revealed as the story progresses. Although there are no twists sending the story in differect direction, the middle of the story does not really sag. A little romance as a sub plot is interesting.

This book is far from the worst book I've read but it isn't one of my favorites either. The first half got me interested but the middle got boring. But for free, it's ok.
