I had read this book when it first came out and enjoyed it. When Robin Williams passed away lately, I had to purchase it again. I read it though two more times. The underlying story - Seize the Day - is told in a way to make it stick. Loved it each time and will no doubt keep reading it.

I love this book. Even though it is slow in the beginning, all I can see are the actors from the movie! I hear Robin Williams' voice as Mr. Keating evey time and the scenes are extremely well written! 5 Stars all the way!

I don't like slow books and The Dead Poets Society is a slow starter. The book is about a group of kids in an all boy prep school, who get a new teacher MR. Keating. Todd Anderson, one of the main characters, and his friends at Welton Academy can hardly believe how different life is since their new English professor arrived. Mr Keating has challenged his kids to make their lives special, also teaches his students to follow their feeling and do what they loved to do, so they would enjoy their life. Although Keating teaching styles were not the easiest the boys still loved him and made the best of there school days. The boys bring back to life the 'Dead Poets Society'. It's a secret club where you are free from the expectations of school and parents, and just learn and read about poetry. The boys not only earn about the beauty of language, but the importance of making each moment count.

This book is amazing and intense. I strongly recommended to everyone to read it. In the beginning the story is a little bit boring but then it gets better and better. This book is about an English teacher, Mr. Keating, who teaches poetry and teaches his students how to write poetry he told the students to call him `O Captain! My Captain!¿when they have to refer to him. Later on the students found out about the Dead Poets Society and Mr. Keating started to talk about it with them the Dead Poets Society was a group of students who meet in a cave, say poetry out loud and make up poetry. Mr. Keating got involved with his students¿ lives and problems and he was always trying to give them good advice. Mr. Keating always encourages his students to do everything in the way they feel and never give up on their dreams and goals and also `Seize the day and make your lives extraordinary¿. Mr. Keating uses different techniques to teach from other teachers and the other teachers and the principal of the school, Mr. Nolan, are disappointed with him, but his students appreciate Mr. Keating and have an admiration for him. This book has friendship, tragedy, parents disappointed with their sons, school, and everyday life. You will catch the story right the way, it is very easy to read and to understand. The poetry in the book is quite understandable. You will see how the students follow their dreams.

I have read ¿Dead Poets Society¿ in my English class. We had to assign a couple of chapters for each week but, I spent just one week reading this gorgeous book. I highly recommend ¿Dead Poets Society¿ to everyone who wants to feel if they were part of any of the scenes of the book, because that is how the book makes you feel, you can identify yourself with any of the characters because the writer specified how their were and gives a lot of details. This book made me feel that I just wanted to stay reading and never stop. ¿Dead Poets Society¿ is an inspiring story that shows how school was in those days, it also shows that every person is born with a particular sense of love and everyone is born with a passion in their heart that sometimes it needs encouragement from a person to help bring it up. The message of this book is that you should make your life extraordinary not giving up for small problem that should make yourself more mature. Mr. Keating, teacher of Welton academy, teaches his students to follow their feelings and do what they loved to do so, they would enjoy their life. Mr. Keating had a rough way of teaching but, the students still loved him and put in practice his suggestions. This book is easy to read, it gives a lot of details, it makes you feel like you are part of it and it gives you a very important message, like Mr. Keating said ¿seize your day¿, enjoy your life.

If you like poetry, then you will enjoy reading the book Dead Poets Society. This book is about a private school English teacher and a group of students who discover poetry in a way they never would have imagined. Mr. Keating, an inspired English teacher opens his student¿s eyes to a new world of words, how they are interpreted through the art of poetry. I enjoyed reading this book, it was entertaining to see the students get excited and overwhelmed by the poems they read and created themselves I also enjoyed reading many of the poems that were in the book as well. Reading about some of the different obstacles the students went through made the book a bit more amusing, although the book started off to a slow beginning if u keep with it, it get better and better. I thought the book over all was a good book because I liked that Mr. Keating didn¿t force his students to learn , he just showed them the door and it was up to them to open it or not. This book was also very similar to many other teacher/student stories, which made it more relatable. I like writing poetry it is just another way for me to express myself in a much more beautiful way. I give this book 3 ½ stars because even though it was a very interesting book it was kind of hard to get into because of the slow beginning, that could often sometimes loose a person. I would recommend this book to readers who are interested in poetry and teacher/student stories.
