Overview

Ripped from the headlines, "Deadline for Murder," tells the story of John Kendrick, a prominent Beverly Hills defense attorney who is discovered shot to death, gangland-style inside his Cadillac sedan. LAPD'S Homicide Detective Joe Kellermann, is assigned to investigate the case. Initially suspected as a Mob hit, the detective soon finds himself immersed in a web of suspects including Kendrick's wife, his law partner, a felon accused of rape and a rogue cop. The case covers lust, jealousy, greed, infidelity and lies, just to name a few. It brings home the fact we never really quite know everything about the people around us...

Evans' detectives are authentic; their characters are well-developed and have flaws that help make them feel real. His writing style is taut and well-suited for the genre, and his plot is an exciting one. Deadline for Murder is highly recommended. 5-Stars. Jack Magnus for Readers' Favorite.
