Elke Feuer delivers a captivating story!  I especially enjoyed the descriptive language she used throughout the book--it definitely made you "see" the story while reading.  The characters were very relatable, especially the main character, Angel.  I loved that she was so flawed, yet so strong on the outside.  The romance between Angel and Bren was sweet and sexy, with enough tension to keep it interesting.     The way the author wove the romance and mystery plot together was excellent.  I thought the balance was perfect.  Feuer used a lot of great twists to keep me on the edge of my seat.  The identity of the serial killer was a big surprise, and I won't spoil it for readers!     I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery with a little romance thrown in.

Elke Feuer created a character that was undeniably having a very difficult life, as a child and even now, as an adult about to turn 30. Angel Mason is a very strong female, carrying serious baggage her entire life. Her mother, Meredith Mason was a convicted Serial Killer in Cayman; and sentenced to a prison in England because Cayman did not have the proper facilities for criminals with mental disorders. Meredith was convicted and sent away when Angel was 10 years old. Angel then went to live with her Aunt Maisy. She never knew who her father was. What this poor girl had to go through was beyond measure. She grows in to a fine young lady, going off to Cambridge University and becoming a Constable. She lives in London for a few years, but returns home shortly before the 20 year anniversary of her Mother’s Murder spree ended. The murders are happening again, there is a copycat killer out there for blood. Angel even wonders if she could be the killer….is she? Is it in her bloodline to do this? Can she ever love anyone? Can she get close to anyone? I wanted to hug this woman! She needed a girlfriend. I loved the cover of this book so much, and I kept reflecting back to that picture each time Angel was mentioned in the book…so, I referenced it a lot. This book definitely kept me guessing, there were so many ways that this book could have turned out. Elke Feuer definitely has a knack for murder mysteries…telling a love story and what can go on in the mind of someone that has mental instability going on. There was a lot of factors in this book, that I think a lot of different readers would enjoy, From Murder, to Love, to Family, to Career…..she had it all in this neat little package.

This is an unusual crime novel.   The twists and turns kept me intrigued from the first sentence to the last sentence.    The fact that there is not one but two serial killers and one more person who fears they may be a serial killer made it absolutely amazing.   I could not stop myself from guessing who the real killer was.  I am glad to say that I was wrong for most of the book and surprised at who the actual serial killer turned out to be.      The romance was secondary, but yet an important part of the story.   Elke Feuer was able to pull the storylines together perfectly, making me cheer for Angel to find her happiness.   I was so happy when Bren didn’t turn his back on her when the going got tough.   He fought for her and showed his true feelings to her without pushing her into situations that she was uncomfortable with.     Anyone who enjoys a great mystery with plenty of suspense and some romance thrown in should read Deadly Bloodlines.   I could not put it down and look forward to more from Elke Feuer.
