When Texas Ranger Alex Markham is sent to Africa to protect an ambassador’s daughter he has no idea what he is taking on. Meghan Jordan, a wildlife filmmaker, is an independent young woman determined to make her own way in life without any babysitting or guidance from over-protective males.  The location and scenery of the story is beautifully told by Lisa Harris, which comes as no surprise as she lives in Africa and loves the country, its inhabitants, and its wildlife. The characters are well put together and believable, with one exception.  I happily recommend this book, especially if you enjoy a deeper look into the beautiful wild country of Africa. As always, Lisa has again earned her tagline as she invites you to “Step Away from the Ordinary.”

I was hooked from the start. Action, adventure, and romance fill the pages of this new book by Lisa Harris. The backdrop is the African savanna and is well described and the perfect setting for this story. The detail of the animals, the land, and people make you feel like you are there. Meghan is a strong, independent woman that has been on her own most of her life. She is unsure of how to have a loving relationship with another person due to the loss of her mother and estranged relationship with her father. Alex is still heartbroken from losing the one he loved. Can these two ever learn how to love? I would love to hear more about their stories.

This is a wonderful book, filled with action & romance! Alex was hired by Meghan's father, an ambassador, to keep her safe in Africa while on assignment. The catch is that her father doesn't want Meghan to know why  the Texas Ranger is there or who the handsome man really is. Meghan's making it very difficult for Alex to protect her because she's a  take charge, stubborn woman! Lisa Harris is one of my favorite authors & this newest book didn't disappoint me at all. I really couldn't put it down!

Texas Ranger meets Daktari (if you remember the TV series from the late 60's). Tex is hired as the clandestine bodyguard for the ambassador's daughter. The banter between them is pretty clever, and the romance that neither wants to happen does anyway. Good action, and you get to learn a lot about filming African wildlife documentaries, too. Harris is so good at weaving a yarn.
