Clinging to life in the hospital, Alex has been shot, but refuses to die. Jake is pretty sure he knows who did it—Vladimir Valinko, a powerful, ruthless crime lord who runs most of the crime in Southern California. Alex had enough evidence against him to put Valinko away for good and was going to testify against him next week. But Valinko had always been good at getting rid of witnesses.
Jake enlists the aid of an old friend, and he and Monica embark on a bold plan to flush Valinko out into the open. Valinko, however, is a step ahead of them, and soon Jake and Monica are involved in a game of cat and mouse where it’s not clear who’s the cat and who’s the mouse.
And then, from an unlikely source, someone offers help.
Deadly Testimonyis Rogers’ seventh Jake Badger novel, and fans are sure to enjoy this latest offering in the exciting series.

What happens when you may have met your match? Jake’s best friend has been shot. Jake and Monica know who did it, but are thwarted at every opportunity. Gunfire, stake-outs, and bromance humor are typical fare for a Glenn Rogers/Jake Badger murder mystery, and this is no exception. Well-written with great relationships and humor, Rogers makes it hard to put the book down, even for food! By the time you are half way through this book you will want to be a partner in the Badger Detective Agency.
