Overview

Deal Killer by Vicki Doudera

Realtor-turned-sleuth Darby Farr arrives in the Big Apple and finds big trouble: her boyfriend Miles Porter is a suspect in the brutal stabbing of a Russian businessman. Setting out to prove his innocence, Darby discovers that Central Park Place—the luxury residence where Miles lives—is a hotbed of wealthy tenants with well-guarded secrets. One of them is Natalia Kazakova, a billionaire's daughter and the victim's not-so-distraught fiancée, whose investigative journalism has caught the attention of Russia's shadowy security agency. With the looming threat of Soviet-era spies and a long list of rich and devious suspects, Darby must work fast to stop a killer who knows no bounds.

Title: Deal Killer - Darby Farr Mystery 5 Author: Deb Richardson-Moore Published: 4-15-16 Publisher: Lion Hudson Pic/Lion Fiction Pages: 338 Genre: Mystery, Thrillers & Suspense Sub Genre: Women Sleuths; ISBN: 9781782641926 ASIN: B00IXVGGKG Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 5 Stars . Darby Farr is on a business vacation, she has come to Manhattan to locate the perfect property for her client, Heidi Kobayashi and to see her friend Miles Porter. The problem being that Miles is suspected in the death of a Russian businessman, Alec Rodin, with who he has had a very public altercation with. Killed near Miles's office police are fixed on Miles as the killer so He and Darby delve into the murder themselves to find the real killer. The list of suspects seems to continue to row with the more they learn. nor to mention the killer doesn't want to be found and having killed once he has proven he will do anything necessary to keep safe including taking out Miles and Darby. I have read this series from the beginning and was hooked at the same time. The only good thing about following various authors and series is that you can show some patience while waiting for the next book to come out. For those of you have never read a Darby Farr mystery before you are in for a treat. Well developed characters and a plot that thought out and flow smoothly scene to scene gives you a story you too will love. Do not worry that the this is the fifth book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I do recommend reading the previous four as well as the build the history of the series and you can see how the characters have developed with each new book. Not to mention they are great reads in their own rights. My rating is 5 out of 5 stars.
