Reviewed by Patti, Book provided by Ellora’s Cave, and Review originally posted at Romancing the Book. Dear Addi is a great book. I picked it up because it seemed like a quick read and I would get a nice happy ending. The introduction of the characters is terrific. I like how they are introduced into the story and to each other. I do wish that there had been a deeper exploration into what went on with the old family tale but with the length of the story it is understandable that everything can’t be drawn out. As for the characters themselves I love them. Jackson has a great balance of geekiness and realistic charm. Ms. Cole does a fabulous job of making him stiff enough, especially when he needs to be, pun intended. Addison is fun, flirty and also has a strong and independent side. I often wonder if authors model some of their characters from people they know. If so, there are qualities in Addison that remind me of quite a few of the women I have in my life so it wouldn’t surprise me at all. Addi and Jackson’s sexual attraction is undeniable. They do manage to have some very hot times so be prepared for those moments when they can’t seem to keep their hands to themselves. I also want to say that even though this isn’t a very long story it does manage to touch on some things that make them think a little deeper about who they are and who they want to be. Dear Addi is one of those stories that had me making faces while I read. There were times I was frustrated or frowning because of the actions of certain characters. Many times I was smirking at funny things that they said or did. I really love when I am reading and my husband has to ask me what is going on because of how I am behaving. I read for entertainment and enjoyment so for me when I am actually involuntarily smiling and scowling it proves I am completely engaged with the characters and the author has succeeded in giving me exactly what I wanted. I can’t ask for more than that. If you read to be entertained this is absolutely a winner. If you are looking for a fun and sexy read this is for you too. I would recommend this for anyone looking to grab a feel good, hot, sexy, love story.
